You win. There is only one pub I have drunk in that has similar clientele and that's the Hen and Chickens in Sheffield.
I stayed in their b&b for a night (was trying to demonstrate to my team that they didnt need to stay in the stakis hilton each time they went there and that a premier inn or ibis was good enough. I said they could pick anywhere in Sheffield and I would stay there)
The week after I was there it was on crimewatch for passing stolen goods in the bar area!

I think I've been there. If it's the same pub I'm thinking of, we played doubles pool against the local drug dealers

That sound like it. If they had a pub quiz the 1st question would have been ' what are you looking at?'
But for £15 b&b nobody complained when they used the £45 ibis afterwards
So have I.
For a short time I also lived in Seafield Road in one of the top floors and we had a great view of their 'back garden'. It's a deal, it's a steal it's.....
A mate and I also stayed in a pub in Salford for our Man U away game in the first season in the PL that was the only building left standing on the road and had bullet holes in the ceiling.
I’ve been in there 3 times I think. First time was when I first moved to Osborne Villas and was checking out the local pubs. Didn’t go back immediately. Second time went mid-afternoon and there was an old couple having a few beers on their way back from Tescos, each had 3 or 4 carrier bags of groceries. They were necking pints then started bickering which then turned into a fight. A guy at the bar had to separate them. 3rd time had a few beers in the garden. I also once walked past and saw the landlord being stretchered out….looked like he’d collapsed. Grim.

The Marina Spoons is easily the best one in Brighton, get a table outside overlooking the boats and it's a great spot

I can only comment about the one in Faversham, but that could simply reflect the perfect storm of a rather unpleasant local underclass (fact, not snobbery), and cheap prices.

Went to spoons in Bristol for lunch while eldest son was attending his offer day at the university and I was pleasantly surprised. Nothing like the Three Fishes in Worthing, Mainly students and business types having a lunchtime pint, no pissheads/twats in there at all. Ended up spending the whole afternoon there and Shipyard was £3.79 a pint. So glad I decided to take the train.

What's to forgive? A load of nonsense was written in the press during Covid.Weather-spoons? Do you get rained on with your cheap pint?
That aside its amazing what people will forgive for a cheap pint...

I think it's great that there is a choice, from a pint of chocolate and honey infused Badgers Nadgers in a converted warehouse with Khruangbin piped through KEF gear or a decent value pie and a pint for people not quite so much up their own backside.

The Watchmakers is a lovely pub. I try my best to use micropubs on AwayDay now. Newcastle has a great selectionI know exactly who owns my two locals and I’ve talked to them behind the bar. Not a corporate share in sight.
When I’m further into Hove I sometimes have a pint in The Watchmakers whose owners live round the corner from me. We often meet them on dog walks.

Newcastle away a year or two ago me and my cohorts were DELIGHTED to spot a very nice Spoons opposite the station the morning after the game, just before hitting the road for the journey back. I can't fault their full-english, and it really hit the spot following a long night out on the grog. I wasn't driving, so indulged in some hairy dog as well. Cheap as.
