Credentials: Near mythical, injury prone wizard who often flattered to deceive. Subject of one of the ultimate transfer sagas in Albion history, climaxing in being paparazzied in a suburban Italian restaurant. Epic fall out with Gus Poyet. Absolutely mental levels of technical ability.

Progress: Vicente finished 1st in Group B, picking up 53 votes (53%). Thrashed Alan Biley 109-18 in the second round. Beat Kazenga Lualua 49-12 in the quarter finals. Thrashed Sergei Gotsmanov 41-6 in the semi finals.

Vicente was a tremendous player but in terms of impact AK made the difference in getting us to the promised land. Should only be onne winnner here.

Ah this was a tough one. Went with Vicente in the end, because the very fact he was playing for us at all was FLAIR in and of itself. But it was a Sophie's Choice kind of situation.

Knockaert by a mile. More than just a player a talisman for this team that injected excitement into nearly every game he played. Vicente, excellent player, but very much a nice shiny toy that we had for a short while. Anthony will always be an Albion legend (I do not use that term lightly) for his contribution to our promotion winning season and those valiant attempts prior.

- WAY too good for us
- Didn't speak English
- Didn't seem to like being here
- A total enigma (= flair)
- Always injured
- The greatest Amex moment of all time (IMO) was him not scoring

@stewart12 for future competitions I think the agreed NSC definition of Flair needs to put up as a disclaimer in every single post. Perhaps people need to sign a document (we could do DocuSign if easier) to confirm they have understood the rules of the competition before voting.

Just an idea.

I feel like he probably barely remembers his time with us. It was a really odd one wasn't it?

Like seeing a mate going out with a girl MILES out of their league, you're just thinking "this can't last, right?"

They both are flair, and i took that into consideration when voting, I think personally Knockaert was more flair, we saw more of him.

I agree. Knockaert was all flair, speed, theatricality, energy and passion all part of the flair mix for me, Anthony had all this in spades.

I think we really need to sort out this definition of flair.

The least flair player of all time is Harry Kane. There will be no further discussion on this fact.

The most flair player of all time IMO is either Nathan Jones when he had that funny blonde thing on his head or Mario Balotelli at the exact moment he got substituted in a pre-season friendly against LA Galaxy for trying and failing to backheel the ball into the net.

Everything in between is up for debate, but I would propose those two at each end of the scale.

"we saw more of him" would suggest he was more reliable, which would actually score him down in the flair stakes.

@stewart12's definition of flair has always appeared to me to be;

Skilful - but it's more flair if said skills are wasted or used inappropriately - there's nothing flair about being reliable or consistent.
Controversy - off field stuff - are they enigmatic? Weird backstory etc. Reyes being until to make a game for us under Poyet because he was UNDER ARREST at the time is very, very, very flair.
Personality - Bizarre appearance/Interesting playing style/Trademark celebration. Social Media oddness. Cult of Personality around the player?

None of it is anything to do with how good they are at football.

A lot of it is off-field really.
