You are pleased Steele is no longer being crucified by the fans yet start a thread to pile on Bart when he wasn’t at fault for the goal. Sold well short by a weak back pass and the attacker got the lucky break that he closed it down well and the ball hit him. Bart pretty blameless in my book on this one, he couldn’t do much else.
The back pass is the main issue here but I'm thinking maybe Bart doesn't need to go down and try to slide kick the ball clear. Stay upright with knee over the top of the ball and you might even get a foul if attacker runs into him. Perhaps the slide is he's wanting to avoid a clattering.

As previous posters have qualified had this been Steele the pile in would have been monumental. Bart certainly wins the debate with shot stopping but in other areas I don't think there's a huge difference hence RDZ rotating up till now. Maybe RDZ has seen something in training of late that seems to have drawn him towards favouring Bart?

Could this not have been said in the Bart thread, or the match day thread? Literally a new thread for every comment these days.

I feel Steele would have been quicker and braver in the same situation, Bart still has quite a few errors due to inexperience. Time to give Steele a run again to see if we can get back on track.
Laughable! Give Bart the gloves till the end of the season! He will make errors but will learn! Steele is and has always been a sub standard keeper!

How soon is now?
Having watched this one on tv, with the benefit of replays, the back pass WAS short but Baleba was stretching. I think Bart did the right thing, and it was just unlucky to get such a direct deflection. It could just as easily deflected off Brownhills knee and gone wide. One of those things….
Thank goodness their goalie gifted us with a much bigger f*** up to nick a point

Steele would have gone head first. Bart doesn't look like a big enough nut job to do this, he is way to pretty. You need a brain like Pickford.

Let’s be honest Bart bottled it. Coward.

The game of pretending Bart never puts a foot wrong continues as the winless run goes on
Well I thought he looked solid today, his passing out has improved big time too. It wasn’t him that made the short back pass either.

I am a Steele fan but Bart has deserved his run of games imo.

No player is perfect and yes in hindsight he should have got his body down in front of the ball.
