What I find most annoying are those players who wear under-shirts with messages on, who then reveal said message upon scoring a goal.

Not content with Twitter / X they force their agenda / virtue signalling upon the world.

Do a knee slide on the pitches of the 70s 80s and 90s it’s a fair bet you’d end up in quagmire of quicksand or break your kneecaps on a concrete hard playing surface of compacted mud.

given how wet the pitches are during a match these days, I am always surprised the groundskeepers dont throw a fit when two furrows 10 yards long are ploughed into the surface after every goal. Its amazing how the pitches stay as good as they do right to the end of the season

It doesn’t help when RDZ knee slides in celebration. Not many managers would do that.

Also, I thought VAR was brought in to stop goal celebrations as it’s not the same after waiting 7 minutes in the pouring rain for Jarrod Gillet to confirm he was 0.3mm onside.

The knee slide is a fast track route to f***ed-up knees.

Clever players slide on the front of their calves.

Last season, Albion U-18s drew 2-2 at Palace. In the second half, Albion 'keeper Tommy Reid saved a penalty from a Palace player.

Unfortunately about ten minutes later Palace were awarded a second penalty. The taker was a different player this time - Cormac Austin. He scored, and celebrated like this:-

What a complete and utter bellend. Tommy Reid is a stronger-willed individual than I, because I'm sure I would have been tempted to knock Mr Austin into the middle of next week.

Palace chose to use that photo to lead their report on the game (and "front" the video highlights). What a desperate, scummy, classless mess of a football club they are.

Cormac Austin - remember the name.

I offer you Van Hecke celebrating Dunk's goal against Palace as a bit of soothing moral balm - at 3 minutes in there wasn't really enough time for the Palace player to aggravate him that much to make it personal, which makes it all the more special.

Also, Maupay in front of Palace fans is one of my favourites of recent years
