Luckily he'd already had his blood group tattooed on his arm incase something like this happened.
Covered on ref watch this morning. They all were critical of him, highlighting how pointless it is in an age of VAR - even if the ref had seen him on the floor nd sent of Estupinian, VAR would have reviewed and showed him up.

One VAR usage change I'd like to see for next season is if VAR review an incident as a potential pen or red and it's decided to be not, then if the reason it's not is down to cheating then the ref is alllowed to take action against the cheater. Diving or feigning injury should be a straight red IMO.
I do wish they'd use the word cheating when talking about this sort of thing, rather than dancing around with "not doing the ref any favours" and "it's poor".
Yes, agreed. I thought their confidence that VAR would definitely overturn a bad decision was quite touching, really.

I find the amount of money we got for him was bonkers. No doubt Alexis M had a fee in his contract but shoulda woulda coulda been £100m on that basis.

That was never gonna happen for us and Mac in this instance, re signing protected our investment and having a buy out protected Mac.
Odd that officials don't seem to give yellows for simulation anymore, I don't recall seeing any this season.
