[Albion] Arsenal fans in home stands

Perhaps the answer is that for certain games (I.e. the plastic six) then anybody with a MyAlbion+ membership can only buy one if they have a history of purchasing (and attending) games involving “the other 14”. Make it a serious financial hit for their one game a year (and keep the money in club coffers).

If you sit by the away fans in our family zone then I’ve seen away fans make inappropriate gestures towards the family stand (including kids) - I really don’t think the family section should go right up to the away fans
Eek. I was actually referring to E1C - other end of East.

Several foreign Arsenal fans in the family stand in front of me. Kept a low profile.

Find it weird that groups without kids can buy tickets for that stand.

That’ll be the tickets from the exchange. Only sold as adult tickets to maximise the profits. Often happens for the Palace games where families with younger ones choose not to come and the seats get sold to groups of young men that swear a lot

It’s almost like the club are happy to take the money while banning fans who turn up week in week out.
Don’t get me started on ‘bans’ mine ran out yesterday, but there’s a Trading Standards issue currently with my solicitor 🙈

I reckon we’ve got hundreds of local MyAlbion+ members who are supporters of the big London clubs (in particular), knowing around £30 a year gets them the right to buy a ticket for their team’s game at the Amex. Add to that loads of our own buying ST guest tickets for their mates and it’s easy to see why we get so much of this. Very difficult to prevent……….

The inability to transfer an away ticket remains stupid.

Yes. I know some of them.

Frustrating that we lead the country in data analytics when it comes to players but don’t check things like this.

I’m sure PBOBE is fully aware. But (with just Fulham doing this too) he quietly welcomes literally anyone into the home stands as long as they’re “respectful”. All of part of the happy clappy family friendly ethos. From day one of the Amex, a year before he arrived, it was patently obvious the club would far rather ban anyone showing aggression, standing. Bored of Poyet’s passing round the back, from WSU D H front row, we watched snatch squads targeting folk in NS.

This. Straightforward, easy to implement. Good idea.

That is a top idea to be honest. Maybe send that on to the FAB guys. Or post add to the FAB thread.

@Barry Izbak one for the FAB to think about?

I can’t say I’ve noticed many ‘away’ fans in my section of the West Upper. I suppose, if there are any, they behave and sit on their hands like I would if I was watching the Albion on an away trip in the home end.

Taking your point about ‘the happy, clappy family friendly ethos’. I was at the Goldstone to watch us play Chelsea at the start of the 1983/84 season. Chelsea brought down thousands of their fans. It was complete mayhem with dozens of innocent supporters being beaten up inside and outside the ground. The Chelsea mob invaded the pitch after the final whistle and pulled down the North Stand goal. They then attacked a couple of coppers in the centre circle and kicked them unconscious. So that in a nutshell was watching football in the 1980s.

I think I prefer, therefore, to be with the happy clappy brigade when it comes to following my team - at least then I know the chances of ending up in A&E are greatly reduced. The additional bonus being I’m happy to take my daughter and grandson to a game - something I definitely would not have done back in the 1980s.
