Well, why haven't you got this thread on ignore then, instead of contributing to it?
Because it’s getting too time consuming - it’s like wackamole - every time you get one another pops up.😂

And because occasionally someone comes along and makes excellent posts like this putting it all into a bit of perspective…

Or Arsenal are currently a bit better than us.

Pull yourselves together. Nobody expected us to win today. There was improvement from midweek. but we were up against a very effective and surprisingly cynical side. The ref made it obvious from the off that we wouldn't be getting any decisions and after a close first half we couldn't break down a very good defence that had rightly or wrongly been gifted a lead. The evidence was there that a squad that has been ravaged by injury all season is slowly getting back to something near what it was capable of at the start of the year.

However, today came too soon against a bloody good side with everything stacked in it's favour. Qualifying for Europe for the second time ever in our existence looks a bit out of our reach this term, but we're in a really good place to go again next year, especially, and I know this is against some strange entitled wind that seems to have been blowing in these parts recently, if we manage to hold on to a coach who has his faults, but has more talent and drive than any manager we've ever had.

And is it really worth trawling through a 'Gawd, not another one of these' type threads just in the hope of finding a post that agrees with you?

The players have stopped playing for him, because they know he is off at the end of the season.

Plus he is a one trick pony who has been found out.

I was just about to say that there is certainly a one trick pony on NSC who has been found out.

But from the thumbs up you're receiving it seems that, as always, there's a few for whom the penny still has to drop :lolol:

an accurate summary. next season our younger players will be that much more mature.
Hopefully Roberto will also learn from his mistakes.

Anyway, for a change, I fancy a new era with a manager who organises counter attacking football, with rolling around on the floor for the rest of the game when we rob an opening goal. Villa and Fulham fare well from that.

Imagine the team delivering clean-sheets, with little vulnerability to the counter.

I genuinely thought this was a piss take which was why I laughed in response, but your posts since are making me wonder. Are you still missing Chrissy H, who always nicked more points than his players deserved ???

six feet beneath the moon...
also for those saying ‘why doesn’t he just switch to a plan b and try and counter teams more without as much possession?’ have you seen how shit our defence has been this season? how well do you think sitting back and allowing teams to attack us would go?

Thank goodness that at the end of this season (which I've always said personally will be a success getting out of the Europa group and a top 10 finish), RDZ will sit down with TBMBE and PBOBE and discuss this like adults rather than the snowflakes who seem to have become more prevalent on NSC focused solely on apportioning blame for every single error in every single match over the last couple of years.

I suspect that similar to when everyone in the club got bonuses when we were improving every single year, that everyone in the club will be asked what they can do better, including TBMBE, PBOBE, RDZ, The recruitment team, the coaches of the U23s, U21s, U19s etc, Dunky, Pascal, Welbz, Lallana and all the other senior players, the chef, fitness staff, cleaners etc just like every other year. Because that is how you become successful against all the odds.

And I've avoided using the term bedwetters .... Oh

We will learn from this.
We will take the positives from the game.
It is what it is................................

Great post. It feels like he's lost the dressing room. Such a shame it feels like it's ending like this, all just so quickly.

I genuinely believe we're going down next season. Our form has been atrocious, you see it season in and out. Our form has been masked by the fact we had a great start. We have been awful, we carry this form into next season and we will finish bottom.
🫣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Last season we scored in every game I think right ? This season already up to 6 or so ?

I know we are missing March & Mitoma but it feels like there are other things wrong here, we’re pretty much back with a decent squad without signs of getting our mojo back.

Think it could be eye opening this summer with a few players like Moder, Lamptey, Veltman moved on

That one was gallows humour. People would soon moan under a manager ceding all possession waiting for an opposition error.

I have come round to the opinion RDZ will depart. Our budget can’t give a perfectionist the tools. Two managers made/lucked out from an astonishing CM.

The Albion journey will take another twist.

It really only takes a few seconds to ignore a thread!

And is it really worth trawling through a 'Gawd, not another one of these' type threads just in the hope of finding a post that agrees with you?
When you times that by 10 threads a day it gets tiresome when someone starts another dick, fishing thread like this. Not sure why you seem to want to turn this into a personal argument though tbh

There is no need for me to trawl threads for posts that ‘agree with me or I with them - there’s plenty of threads and posts on NSC where I share similar views to others including on this one. Stato’s post above says it all.

I don’t think how we played merits all the maudlin comments and hyperbolic threads - how many times do we need to keep saying it? Yes, we’ve had a ‘mare season for injuries, we’re off our form, especially when it comes to finishing, playing Europe for the first time and competing for another top 6 or 7 finish was always going to be a tough ask on our current budget and without the unique Caicedo/Mackie partnership we had last season or without March and Mitoma - but there is also much to celebrate.

I refer you to the reactions to my original post. Have a nice evening. :)

Here's what's bothered me from the very start of the season. Roberto constantly pointing out the difficultly of having to play three games a week with the Europa League. Now it's not an untrue statement. It's absolutely true. We all know and expect this. But he was saying it back before we'd even kicked a ball in Europe. It felt like an excuse for him, for the players and for the fans right from the start. It feels like that has been internalized by some and so we've just accepted losses.

One of the major roles of a manager, maybe the major role, is to motivate the players. Giving them an out just doesn't seem helpful.

Maybe such observations from a coach sound less demoralizing in Italian? I don't know.
Looking for excuses is exactly what he does often even before a game is played. In the press conference against Liverpool he was talking about how we won last year but that a lot is different now. He started to list key players that left us and began with Robert Sanchez!!! The goalie he chased away hinself ffs. There are a certain type of people who think it is very strong and manly to sit and complain and make excuses and take public fights with the owner. Those kind of people will always see Roberto as our greatest of all time but the majority are just seeing a sad loser who thinks very highly of himself

Totally disagree.
I think most Albion supporters (most people) are a bit more nuanced.
You can, on the one hand, be incredibly grateful for what he's done in his short time here whilst also being concerned about our current form and his general demeanour on the other.
I'm not sure many people see him as a 'sad loser'.
