[Albion] RDZ’s mentality and ‘balls’

Where are they? Has he given up on his own model? The players certainly have. Coasting through games. He’s sitting on the bench, hands in pockets.

We could have gone 7th with a win against Brentford but played it with as much urgency and passion as a behind closed doors pre season friendly.

Arsenal are very good, but we’ve completely rolled over today. They’re barely out of 2nd gear.

The team currently has no personality. No desire. We are utterly boring to watch. It’s robotic, it’s like the players have been stripped of all creativity.

We are on the beach already whilst still within a couple of wins from Europe.

I for one am sick of RDZ’s patronising media comments and doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. He has no plan B. He’s not ready for a big job. To be honest in the last 3 months he’s been found out.

What’s gone wrong? Perhaps a change in the summer is not such a bad idea.

He's gone in the summer. He's looking elsewhere.

He thinks he bigger and better than the club. Nobody is bigger than our club.
His post January window comments have pissed me off, I have to say. All very well wanting us to bring ready-to-go players in in January, but clubs don't want to sell those types of player in January for anything other than silly money. He's not the one that has to deal with the long-term consequences and stability if the signings don't work out.

Ad nauseam but it’s become de rigueur after every match now. Strange love/hate relationship some fans have with the role of a manager. So much projecting going on when our performance level in the second part of this season has been a combination of so many factors, many of which are totally out of the hands of the coach.

Someone should put all these threads into a separate forum so we are not bombarded constantly with them - it has become very time consuming putting so many on ignore 🙄

Hard to say exactly.

Raising a further (genuine) question, if RDZ had left at the end of September, would we have a significantly higher league just now if he’d been replaced by Potter or Gary O’Neil?

(Awaits brickbats) I haven’t been excited by our first team starting line ups for much of this season. In CM an eclectic bunch of grandads, players learning their craft or incredibly slow and can’t score. Lamptey isn’t a great defender in a back 4. Putting pressure on previously accomplished players eg Dunk’s mistakes.

RDZ’s crime is perhaps trying to play like ManC with a now lower mid-table squad?

Assuming the ‘factors’ you are referring to are mainly concerning injuries?

Isnt it the coaches job when he has injuries to key players to perhaps change to style of play? Change formation? Change tactics based on opposition? We do the same thing every single game and expect it to work. It’s naive at best. Idiotic at worst.

The players have stopped playing for him, because they know he is off at the end of the season.
Been thinking the same for a while. Has to be having an effect.

He's given us some great memories, but he clearly has lost that magic.

At the start of the season I would have been devastated if he'd left. Now it feels increasingly like it might be the best for all concerned.

He's not on the same page as Tony

I have to agree.

He’s a perfectionist, his precise system requires quality and pace. He’s not going to see a squad like last season’s here.

CH, GP, RDZ …. they come and go.

-caicedo and mac not replaced.
-awful summer signings since we lost our recruitment team which we only get worse seeing as Chelsea took our last one standing: Milner, fati, dahoud. All crap.
-injuries
-signing no one when 3 players were needed in jan

= why he has lost his mojo and fair enough.

He doesn’t suit well with bloom so will be for the best he leaves but can’t see anyone touching him, maybe an average Italian team.

Well, why haven't you got this thread on ignore then, instead of contributing to it?
