I can understand some discussion but that was not a penalty, Lamptey makes initial contact with the ball in a genuine tackle his leg follows through but you can clearly see him pulling his leg back to try and avoid contact, Jesus then scores a 9.7 dive and the ref is conned.
The ref has demonstrated so far in the game he is a gooner at heart of just plain incompetent.

He’s changed the direction of the ball, meaning Jesus loses control of it, which is why Jesus manufactures the contact.
It’s not a foul. Anyone that’s ever played football to a good level and that knows the rules knows it isn’t.
We absolutely don’t get that, put it that way.

It doesn't look like that from the rear view. From the side view you can see it significantly moves the ball.

If he'd missed the ball it would. But he didn't. He played ball and Jesus threw himself over his legs as any striker would.
Short of Lamptey stepping aside and letting him run through, there is nothing more he can do, it's a contact sport, he played BALL first. No studs up, nothing.
That isn't a penalty.

He didn't WIN the ball - he barely touched it and it never changed direction. I'm sorry but that's an obvious penalty, much as I wish it wasn't.
