I just noticed that the accounts were actually signed off on 9th October - ie, 6 months ago! Obviously every club now has to make it's accounts available to the Premier League much sooner, but it's interesting how the club have held them back (publicly) until the last possible day (I'm assuming they were submitted to Companies House immediately prior to the 31st March deadline).
Yes that would be great but it is a factor in trying to retain our best players. Can we ever reach a point where players are happy to play for us rather than leave for Liverpool?Every season?
Not in my view.….there’s always the opportunity cost to consider as well as the value of any expenditure (and careful management of those being precisely what delivered the results in the first place). Could equally say that it ‘makes our failure to spunk £50m on a PL-ready midfielder a bit silly’……..
Not until we pay Liverpool-level wages (spoiler - we won’t)
PBOBE is on a decent wedge but not sure he’s going to offer TB upwards of £300m for a majority share……..anyway, TB is on record as saying his son is going to take it over when he can’t run it any more.

Given that Watford included the receipts of the Joao Pedro sale in their 2022-23 accounts, I think it is safe to assume that his purchase is included in these Albion results:-

If we're going to spend big in the summer it stands to reason that we're likely to do it for two reasons
1) Other clubs will have to sell by the end of June
2) Financially, we would prefer to buy before the end of June, because then the figures will be on this seasons accounts, which we know will be very good, rather than next seasons, which although will probably be fine, we don't know about yet

Re point 2, only 1 years worth of a signings contract goes on the accounts, so not sure they will be that fussed if it comes this year or next - the same amount will be in both. It will just change which year it comes off

This is not the case. Pedro’s 30m fee will have come off of the cash balance, but he’ll have been included on the asset register with a value of 30m. Net result: zero loss. This value willl be amortised over the 5 years of his contract, so in terms of the accounts he’ll cost the club 6m a year until either his current contract expires or he signs a new deal.

I would've added in whoever the 'X' admin was, that used to be a WUM as well, but no trolling 'X' tweets have been posted on here for ages, so I assume they're not allowed to troll on 'X' anymore. Which is a shame, as I thought they were funny.

So sales are included as the full sale price upfront but purchases are spread across the length of the contract? That seems really odd.

Sales would have the balance of the amortised purchase price knocked off to show a net profit/loss on a sale of asset.
