Yes I have suspicions on player comps, seem a lot of people with physical tickets, which I believe are player comps.
Two seasons back @ Spurs - blokes & kids in Spurs clothing celebrating their goal in away end.. when challenged “player comps” - think it was goalkeeping coach to be precise..

Two seasons back @ Liverpool. Gang of 15/16 year olds all from Brighton in front of us.. half of them LFC fans - replica shirts on etc

Unfortunately will always be an element of fanbase that think rules do not apply to them in passing on tickets which causes some issues.. but… reality is it took 2 weeks? to sell out the allocation.. going down to members scheme.

1400? Allocation at Brentford on Weds should in theory be better atmosphere wise

So many away game regulars didn’t go today, despite a decent Sunday KO time.

Surprised. People rationalising their football finances after Rome?
Probably this, would've never gone as it's Easter Sunday but I have also noticed the noise levels drop on occasions. Since Covid maybe🥴.

Thanks. I’m not challenging you here but fear many 1901ers may misunderstand the rules on away ticket use.

So you are saying that PB confirmed (in his further detail) to you that it must be the same named person using the 1901 ticket for away games. I thought the whole point of 1901, home and away, is that it isn’t person specific and tickets are transferable (with the named contact being responsible for the behaviour, etc of those named and using the ticket) therefore allowing different people (named at the time) to use the ticket, as per my example of Scouse Sid using it yday and Brentford Brian using it on Wednesday.
No, that you cannot give them to opposition fans. Re yesterday, if a 1901 member gave their ticket to an opposition supporter they are subject to the same rules as everyone else.

You can name another fan but must be Brighton.

I didn’t ask about points accrued.

Edit - sorry, reading my response, for clarity…. @timbha thats opposition supporters at away games

Thanks. I think our wires are crossed through the definition of opposition supporters, ie if we’ve got a Liverpool fan at our depot in Brighton is he allowed to use the firm’s 1901 ticket at Anfield and sit with the Albion fans?

So maybe someone on here with the ear of the club should let them know that players complementary (and maybe 1901) tickets are going to away fans and it creates a potential safety risk for the individuals involved. Any FAB on the forum?

This thread has turned pathetic. Get over it. We’ve all been in home stands. And had friends following other clubs take up an away ticket. It’s just the way things roll. Life ain’t fair is it?!

Surely it depends on the behaviour of the individual. They should act so that no one would know.

No colours. No celebrating goals scored by whoever we are playing. No shouts or anything else that identifies them as supporting the other team i.e. they shouldn't do anything that makes them stand out as being a 'supporter' of the other team. Otherwise, as @Wardy's twin has suggested, there is a potential safety risk.

with an albion top on or just quietly watching, the two are very different. Also it has denied tickets to a couple of fans that I am aware of who attend most of the northern games...

Will go back to my earlier example of Spurs away - was actually last season not 2yrs..!

We could have sold our allocation twice over given the importance of the fixture yet brighton fans are missing out & player comps are given to persons openly supporting Spurs and wearing their merch as an identifier..

I doubt your friends who took up an away ticket with the Albion supported the other team we were playing that day?

Being a London game (high demand, high points threshold), all those opportunistic Spurs fans must’ve bought tickets through true Albion supporters one way or another. Perhaps the club should up the ante with their away game turnstile checks? Would certainly be a deterrent.

Of course many do, travelling home and away, not aiming at them at all. I’ve just heard people explicitly tell me they’ve used the loophole and used someones who isn’t going. When it’s a Brighton fan, I don’t really care, as they want to show support, but if they are being passed on to Liverpool fans then I’ve got the problem. I can’t think of any other way these tickets would have got in opposition hands.

When it’s a > high points threshold sellout, you must be correct.

When the tickets go to low points, they can be mopped up by folk who’ve simply paid for an Albion membership.

I was at the game yesterday. I agree we were quieter collectively than normal for an away game. Easter Sunday with much more difficult transport options undoubtedly made for a different mix of fans is my guess on the whole. Plus the changes to the stand in terms of acoustics but I actually thought the view was better. I like Anfield as an away game.
I accept the odd away fan in the home end as long as they are reasonable(eg no colours) but deffo don’t think home fans should be in with the away fans at all.

I‘ll be home in less than two hours time!

Despite it being libraryesque, yesterday was probably my first away game where everyone around me, and within earshot, was decent, positive, and friendly.

The fellas either side of us were so happy to be there they were clearly fookin annoying, but I'm prepared to accept that issue could be with me not them!

Four Liverpool fans in front of me today, stewards did nothing to get them out, despite actively cheering Liverpool goals. Don’t understand how people are getting banned for 10 games for passing on tickets, yet people are still managing to pass them on. I can guess exactly what happened they’ll be a 1901 member who can reallocate their tickets. Don’t worry I told him to F off, and told them I’m there every week, it’s not right that people are being penalised for passing on tickets, when people are actively giving them to opposition supporters. It isn’t right. They actively said they were Liverpool fans, then said they were ‘neutrals’ when they crowd turned on them.

That’s appalling mate. I would have been livid. Did they eventually leave?

Can’t get an away ticket, I go in the home end. Quite regularly now we’re on the up and we’ve thousands of fans only supporting until we’re relegated or sell Mitoma. How else do you explain half of Tokyo turning up these days? Just accept it’s the way of things and nothing absolutely nothing can prevent 100%. Just the way it is. Just as it is denying their fans when we’re sat in the home ends. Like Villa promotion season.

No. That’s the issue.

Clearly different rules in the 1901 area for home games, but for away games effectively we are all in general admission areas, so the general rules apply. No opposition fans.

At least that’s my understanding of what was conveyed. It was a couple of seasons ago, so I no longer have the email.

Reckon there’s a bit of fatigue with the usual away support. I decided to give yesterday a miss despite usually travelling up for Liverpool away. It’s been a wonderful but very long and expensive season if you go to every home game and the majority of aways.
