We really need to do something about JP - yet another towering performance greeted with silence.
Rhyming couplets really isn't my thing but even I know Van Hecke ain't the easiest to mould round a tune.

All I've got is 'Let's all do the Van Hecke' etc followed by expressive arm waving culminating in hands to the head.
(as said this really isn't my thing)

There must be something.

Excellent today, again, but there is a but, I’ve noticed he keeps dropping too deep and its resulting in him playing oppo players onside, happened for their 1st goal today and a fair few other times.

Freeze frame (the side shot) the moment Mac received the ball leading to the winner. JPVH and Veltman played Salah onside.

Or, was it because the back four in the moment were all at sea? I think Dunk feared a Mac pile-driver as he wad completely unmarked 20 yards out.

Worth having a look.

Ultimately it wouldn’t have mattered for the first goal as Veltmans wild swipe at the ball would have meant they’d all be onside anyway.

I think just by the eye test we knew he had been our best centre back this season, even ahead of Dunk, but the data also back this up. Third best centre back in the PL this season, a genuinely remarkable improvement over the past year, comfortably our most improved player - he definitely deserves an end of season award of some sort.

It's criminal he's not even making the Dutch squads.

I'm not so sure on that yet.

Unfortunately for him, unlike England who have very few quality centre backs, it's the strongest part of the dutch squad.

Van Dijk (Liverpool)
De Ligt (Bayern)
Van de Ven (Spurs)
Ake (Man City)
De Vrij (Inter)
Botman (Newcastle)

Are all rightly ahead of him at the moment so he has got some work to do.

With the long term injury to Botman and Van De Ven possibly being susceptible to hamstring injuries with his ridiculous pace, he might get a chance in the near future.

Weirdly the actual article doesn't have him in the top 5.
Strange list overall, Saliba is probably the best CB in the league.
Thiago Silva has been awful this season.
