I had a West Ham friend come along this season, and having sat with her head in her hands for the previous two years, they went and won! Of course she shouted when they scored, but then made that stupid cross armed salute, which really irked one of my friends, and he told her off…

Personally, I thought he was more out of order than she was…. She’s 65 and was enjoying a rare victory against us…. Everything calmed down afterwards.

I didn’t go to the game, I loath cheating Citeh …. when they won they won the league at the Amex, on TV you could see them popping up everywhere at any time in the game. It looked like no one was bothered.

Contrast to other support …. the last Chavs title winning team, under Conte, won at The Hawthorns. They did exactly as I described above and took a vicious beating from home fans, people trying to do serious damage.

Not as far west as I was before
I was there today and basically because they have taken away the low roof above our heads and put the new stand above in it's place any noise we did make was lost as the acoustics are now purely for the upper tier.
But we were unusually quiet today. Didn't hear any criticism of RDZ etc at all.
I thought we played well and gave a good account of ourselves.

Is that really true re away matches? I thought that whilst the 1901 ticket earns loyalty points like anyone else, anyone the 1901 holder chooses can use it

For example, my company holds a 1901 membership. I am the nominated holder of the pass, ie I am the contact. Subject to having enough loyalty points I can let Scouse Sid use it today, Brentford Brian on Weds and Burnley Bert in a few weeks.

This will maintain the build up of my LPs and let opposition fans sit/stand in the areas allocated to Albion fans.

Of course many do, travelling home and away, not aiming at them at all. I’ve just heard people explicitly tell me they’ve used the loophole and used someones who isn’t going. When it’s a Brighton fan, I don’t really care, as they want to show support, but if they are being passed on to Liverpool fans then I’ve got the problem. I can’t think of any other way these tickets would have got in opposition hands.

I was thinking we needed another body in midfield. I had an idea it would be Lallana (not a criticism by the way) but Liverpool were all over our midfield at times. I was hoping to see more of Barco too

there should have been some Brighton Stewards there as well... they should be dealing with this sort of crap. I know at least 2 fans who could not get tickets.

As a 1901 member myself, I can tell you that the word ‘vociferously’ is completely incompatible with that tier.

Pedro’s last minute winner against Marseille was vociferously applauded from our seats, but that’s the closest I’ve seen.

Not just Sunday lunch, Easter Sunday lunch. For a lot of families you’ve got big get togethers planned etc. I would never have made this game, whether it would have been at Anfield or the Amex.

Yes it is (the away supporters), I queried it very early on with PB OBE as didn’t want to get caught out re the rules. My query was aimed more at home games, but he offered further detail.

Thanks. I’m not challenging you here but fear many 1901ers may misunderstand the rules on away ticket use.

So you are saying that PB confirmed (in his further detail) to you that it must be the same named person using the 1901 ticket for away games. I thought the whole point of 1901, home and away, is that it isn’t person specific and tickets are transferable (with the named contact being responsible for the behaviour, etc of those named and using the ticket) therefore allowing different people (named at the time) to use the ticket, as per my example of Scouse Sid using it yday and Brentford Brian using it on Wednesday.
