Discussion on TS this morning :

- he's suffered enough
- current ban is sufficient
- he’s cooperating with the investigation
- the FA need to do more to educate player (so it’s partly their fault)

He's a grown man, how on earth is it the fault of the FA - especially when Toney literally had just been banned a couple of months prior.

He's only cooperating because he's been caught. Not like he volunteered himself to be punished.

It’s worse than that……he was already very close to being banned for his earlier offences

The Tonali deal points to Newcastle not doing their homework but Toney currently advertising 'Hollywood Bets' rather suggests The FA isn't exactly squeaky clear.

Corruption in italian football is nothing new. There was the Totonero betting scandle in the early 80's Remember Paulo Rossi having his ban reduced for betting on matches, so that he could play in Spain 82 world cup.

There was Calciopoli scandle in 2005, Probably the biggest scandal in italian football. Although this was buying the officials to favour sides for the betting markets, it was still thought that a number of players made a fortune in winning bets but they were never investigated as the Authorities went after the clubs.

RDZ was banned in Italy from manager of Calcio Foggia for 10 games. This was because Foggia had been found out to be one of many lower divisional italian clubs for money laundering. Foggia had points deduction and RDZ banned as he was manager at the time.

Smug saying 'he 's learned his lesson' and 'been punished enough' and 'the best thing for him is to get back playing football'. Course it is Eddie, especially when your club has spaffed 10s of millions on him.

Would have thought he 'learned his lesson' when the first investigation happened and was very near it's conclusion, but he carried on betting anyway.
