No, but I saw them last time at the Centre, they put on a good show. TBH the clincher for me was one of my favourite bands from the 80s, Scritti Pollitti as supporting, sadly I was a touch disappointed due to sound quality, set list and lack of enthusiasm from the crowd. I’ve seen them a number of times and normally they’re excellent.

I saw OMD in Toronto a couple of years ago. A really enjoyable evening, they put on a great show and the crowd really went for it because it was a lot of people's first concert post COVID lockdowns.

I didn't realise they were coming back here in October. I missed the initial sale and it looks like tickets are way more than what I'm prepared to spend. ALthough that seems to be the story with all bands these days.

Scritti Politti.

Did you see them at the Top Rank, supporting, er, The Clash I think it was. Would have been late 79. Epic!

No although I was a fan from the very early days.
Until they had a little bit of chart success I think the people in my class had just made up a band name to try and be cool!

Did they get bottled off stage like Clash support bands normally did?
Not at all. Which makes me wonder if it really was The Clash.

I can't find aything online, and there seems to be no record of Scrits playing the Top Rank. But they did. And I saw them. And it was 1979/80 when I lived in Brighton for 9 months after finishing uni. And I remember it as the Clash gig. Pete Townshend did the encore with the Clash. I saw it.

Weird.

I know they played the Brighton Centre (or The Dome) in late 1981. Great band.

I had Forever Live and Die on repeat in the late 80's..The dome is a much better venue for them, would be interested to know if they open with Enola Gay or close with it?? Decisions decisions...

Radio 1 had a weekly 'new releases' programme. Tony Blackburn was a regular guest. I recall him dismissing a couple of tracks as being shite because there were no instruments and it wasn't music.

Enola Gay
Down in the Park.

They f***ing soppy old twat.

Almost and Julia's Song off of that first album still wonderful music.
Still got the receipt for that album, bought when I heard Electricity and headed straight to Virgin up Queen's Road.
