Yeh - tutting at people singing too loud - that really happens.
Amazing to think that there was a time when it was totally accepted that most fans went to football to watch the game, rather than it all being about getting pissed

I'm confused. Are you genuinely complaining that our younger fans are annoying because they go past you to get a pint at half time? I can't help but feel you're reaching for something to be annoyed at them for. Every age group goes for a beer at halftime.
The stuff posted on here is more likely to get back to a player than anything said in an away end. I get why it's annoying but, again, every age group does it. Against Tottenham for example the middle aged bloke behind me was waffling on non stop about why our tactics were crap and why was De Zerbi not doing whatever. Really grating after a while. If I'm infront of the type of lads you're talking about at least I won't have to listen to tactical analysis for 90 f***ing minutes.
I can't speak to the abuse you're talking about but I can only say haven't seen anything like that this season. I'll also say we have some right grumpy gits following us who can be really short and ill tempered. I wouldn't rush to blame the youngsters 100% of the time. There are undoubtedly some twats amongst them but I really dislike the disdain shown on here sometimes.

Arguably the stupidist post I've ever read on here. When was this time exactly? In the 70s and 80s when it was like the purge? In the 90s and early 2000s when half the players were functioning alcoholics and that was just accepted? Football and alcohol are and pretty much always have been inexplicably linked. To suggest that young fans have somehow introduced drinking is genuinely outrageous

Don’t know if it’s already been mentioned but the group near the woman that went down (no jokes please) were gesticulating that she’d been hit by a water bottle. As stuff was bouncing off that net it’s was probably from one of her own.
The old North Stand and Chicken Run in the 70’s reeked of booze. Every pub anywhere near the Goldstone was rammed on a match day. I can remember random supporters throughout the Chicken Run drinking Scotch from handheld canteens …. you could smell it. With beer at 25p a pint, happy days for supporters.

amazingly there was a time when a significant minority thought going to football was really about having a fight .... times have changed thankfully and we have a thread about one individual (mainly) rather than 300....
The video though should show more i.e. it should show how he got to that place not just him there as it might be more useful in determining his actions and purpose.
The beer is just one small part of it, sorry if you’re confused. Mixed responses on here so you stand with your preferred type and I’ll stand with mine……give me someone prepared to talk sensibly about tactics than a coked up prick shouting ‘Lallana you useless ****ing ***t’ every 30 seconds every time.

Not buying this. It’s football. You let yourself go and have a laugh and sometimes cross the line of what you’d normally act like after a few beers. A few wanker signs and banging on a Perspex wall isn’t worthy of your comment - it happens everywhere and this is tame. Lighten up a bit imo.
In the late 80s / early 90s when I started going away it was easy to split “types” of football fans. On the trains or in a mini bus or private coach you got pissed and did pretty much what you wanted. On the club coach it was much more sober and safer.
But with standing and 200 of us in a 2000 place away end you could be with who you want. Much easier.
With loyalty points, ID checks, sell outs at T2, allocated seating etc getting “similar” people together is impossible.
It’s very annoying for older, more sober fans to have pissed up idiots steal their seat. But football is also supposed to be fun and one of the last places working class lads can let off steam. A bit more understanding of that is also needed. Like the quoted post says it’s been going on forever. I’ve got smashed at away games and was probably annoying as f***. We’ve all done it,
