Well, a roller-coaster of a couple of days, went yesterday for bone scan ,had that at 3 at then off to see consultant urologist for biopsy results. As feared the news wasn't great ,stage 3 aggressive prostate cancer. After chat with him we were assigned a key worker who is now dealing with all my treatment. He explained what was going to happen which will be Hormone tablets then onto injections for 4 -5 months followed by radiotherapy. Got a call from same guy this afternoon saying that bone scan was all clear, which was such a relief. Now for the tablets to hopefully start working there magic on my testosterone ..

That's good news, tablets and injections give you the equivalent of the menopause, mood swings and hot flushes, the radiotherapy is absolutely fine, i'm having 20 sessions at the moment with minimal side effects, hopefully now heading toward a successful outcome.
All the best.

Can absolutely relate to the roller-coaster. The waiting and not knowing is absolutely torturous. Sorry to hear the news wasn't better, but at least you know where you are and can start to tackle it. Of course, it could have been worse, so there is still plenty of hope.

Best of luck.

Best of luck. In 6 months time you'll be right as rain and looking forward to our second European campaign.

Thank you, to be honest I feel that the results were as good as could of have been expected. My PSA was 61 so was always fearing the worst . Just need to knuckle down and get used to the hormonal changes 1st off then onto radiotherapy. Again wishing your wife all the very best and thinking of you all ,I know what you're going through as I probably said previously, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer 7 years ago.

Wouldn't that be lovely. At least I got to watch them once in Europe, against Ajax at home ,something I thought would never happen. Hopefully be able to make the trip down for another European night soon .

I've just had ( 2 weeks ago ) my 4D Brachytherapy treatment. Apart from some difficulty passing water in the late small hours IF I've had to get up in the night, I'm feeling very well and full of positivity. My Gleeson score was 4/19 and the cancer is entirely contained within the gland so ,lucky me eh? Follow up check with PSA test after 3 and then 6 months. IF this turns out to not have worked I will still have the option of a prostatectomy. I'm off to buy a lottery ticket!
Notwithstanding my news, I wish all of you the very best in fighting / coping with this horrible disease.

Fingers x this treatment will work for you, and as you've already said it's contained which is good news, and you have the prostatectomy to fall back on.
Good luck

I've got a meeting with a urology consultant on Thursday.
I know that the cancer has broken out of the capsule (prostate), so now I just want to know the next steps.
Wishing you all the best ,mine was the same and am being treated with Hormone treatment and radiotherapy.
