Good stuff. The link concentrates on European sides and it's interesting to note that some football teams actually pre-date the proper formation of states. The Japan one seems to be a bit of a mystery with a number of different explanations offered up. I was interested to read that the old claim that Germany's away kit is inspired by Ireland seems to be incorrect.

The headline price of £120+ is for the player-spec shirt, that literally NOBODY buys.
The actual replica shirts, that everyone will buy from Sports Direct will be about £65 - like every other football shirt.

The 'cross' is simply Nike dicking about and the FA aftertiming about approving it (when my guess is that the bloke who was supposed to check it was watching the racing on channel 4).

The fact that even people watch soccer in a soccer World or European Cup, who do not otherwise, is usually because a national soccer team represents and represents the entire nation. We stand unitedly behind her.
The German DFB-team, on the other hand, has been trying for years to represent only a small part of the Germans and defeat another part. Like by not wanting to be called a national team anymore. Or where they penetrate the spectators (through inscriptions on the team bus, armbands or embarrassing group photos) with ideological messages, instead of putting the sport in the focus.
And now they seriously want to wear a pink jersey at away games. Apparently, it was predicted that many people won't like it. The comments of the irritated public were anticipated and incorporated into an extra shot video. Tenor: The jersey is great, and whoever doesn’t like it has no idea.
The DFB team doesn't want to connect anymore. They now represent a small, morally superior part of society and ideologically do their thing. Whoever doesn't like this is narrow-minded or eternal and has just had bad luck. This appearance does not work well with the Greens, it does not work with our media and it will not work for the DFB team either.
When you stop being complicit, there’s no longer a rational reason to watch a couple millionaires you don’t personally know play ball.

The ‘stadium’ version (pretty much equal to what the Albion play in week in week out) is *cough* only £85. It’s the authentic version that’s £125. Still OTT. £50 is plenty

There is no evidence that it is anything other than a design brain fade which has made the papers a lot of clicky advertising revenue in their comments section.
Now politicians, desperate for votes, are wading in.
It was a change that wasn't needed and was unnecessary. It's also costing me a lot in Pringles as all the outrage is worth sitting and viewing. Lee Anderson has said any more of this and he is on the first flight to Rwanda. So if you could just put up with one more silly design change (maybe an England tracksuit in rainbow colours) he can go and we can then put things back to how they were before.

I'd hope folk don't buy the shirt because of that. Shame, as apart from the flag weirdness it's one of the best they've had for me. The last one at the World Cup being the worst I can remember.
