West is BEST
Head to the Lancing one these days but popped my US cherry at the Shoreham one in the late 90’s.
Would often have a late night drive over there.

Best burgers I’ve ever had. I like some of the more upmarket places. Eighty Ate in Reigate being a favourite when I’m over that way.

But consistently for decades US has been the best.

Been here long before the burger “renaissance” and hopefully long after.

A good friend of mine, on nsc & Albion sth, regularly drives down from Bexhill to Patcham for his fix of Uncle Sams.....that's commitment to the cause....

Best mate lives in Crawley and has already been there for lunch twice this week, including with his three year old grandson. Next generation of loyal Uncle Sams customers being formed right there! Also reports that all the tables were occupied, so seems fair to assume the new Crawley branch is going to be a rip-roaring success :unclesam:

Sadly the only Grubbs now is the one by Palmeria Sq. Think the owner refused to do Deliveroo, JustEat etc and ended up closing a couple of shops.

Yes but weirdly kept the most inconvenient one unless you live in Hove, hardly ever go there now but would be quite happy to frequent the one that used to be by St Peters or even the one on St James Street.

The only Grubbs option is the one with peanut butter, chilli and banana. Otherwise it's Uncle Sams all the way. 🍔
Peanut butter and mango chutney , a taste explosion but made my tongue stick too the roof of my mouth😕.

Thanks. The fries are different? How?
As I said I don't frequent such places.... but I can tell you the fries at Carden Ave are 'fries' but the ones in Woodingdean are more 'chip' like in that they are thicker. Not as thick as oven chips but sort of in the middle. Not that I'd know anything about oven chips either, I've just asked a friend. ;)

Swindon, but used to be Manila
Too damn right! Tho I have to confess that, when the craving gets bad, I have been known to get the 5B down to Carden Avenue, quickly wolf down a doublechilliburgerlargefries, then cross the road and get the 5B back home again
We use Uncle Sams in Hangleton as our go to burger before home games.....been doing that for quite a few years,,,

First time I tried US was near the clock tower, must have been around 1978(guessing)
