I wonder how they got to 4pts? Everton were initially docked 10 which were then reduced to 6. What did they do that was 50% worse than Forest?

They'll probably appeal it down to 2 points. Then Everton will get theirs reduced to 2 points too and the whole exercise will be a massive waste of everybody's time

This. It's a real shame that the premier league haven't had the balls to stand by their punishments. The January transfer window just passed was a real demonstration of some reality returning to the market as clubs realised that they had to manage to a budget. Which consequently placed us in a really strong position going into the summer window due to the health of our balance sheet.
I imagine now clubs will go back to their profligate ways as they can "relatively" get away with it.

Apparently it’s a lower points deduction than it might have been so that it reduces the chance of an appeal which the PL really don’t want as it would drag on beyond the end of the season and make the relegation battle a farce.

So the fine is based on trying to avoid an appeal and make the relegation fight still exciting rather than the perceived level of the actual crime?

Probably wait until May 18th to decide how many points Man City have deducted.
There needs to be an unequivocal and published set of tariffs for this. And a coherent rubric for decision making.
Instead they are making it up as they go along, changing the objectives, plucking tariffs out of thin air, basing the narrative on wafer-thin foundations that are easily challenged. All slogans, huff and puff, and no evident plan let alone end game. No idea what success should look like.
It all seems a bit 'Brexitty' to me.

By the end of May 25th this year, the Premier League will release their provisional final league standings pending months of court challenges and appeals.
We'll know who won the league and who got relegated sometime in 2027.

I don't do conspiracy theories but, much like our Royal Family currently, there's plenty being done here to ENCOURAGE them.
Transparency is needed and an update on the Man City situation wouldn't go amiss either.
