[Albion] Surely we must have some decent free kick takers in this squad?

Shirley the all-powerful (or not) algorithm could specifically target some transfer, er, targets, whose speciality is free kicks, even if they're maybe slightly less well-developed in other areas of their game. Be More Chippy
How many direct free kicks are scored in PL games on average? It's so low, it's not worth having a specialist in unless they're as good as the other players for the rest of the game.

Who else is going to tell Dunky 🤣
If, after watching the whole team practice, the manager think Dunky's the best in some positions, then he probably is.

We should have signed James Ward Prowse last season...

...Dunk still on free kicks would have been the ultimate flex (is that correct, yoof?)

We were discussing this at the match. Hardly ever happens now. Ward Prowse is possibly the only one I fear when they line them up.

I wonder if it's because the balls are so light now, and defending tactics are so good.

Next time Dunk lines one up, the crowd should all chant "Enciso, Enciso, Enciso..."
I really, really, really thought that when we got that free kick against Roma it would be our Julio to take it. He and Dunky positioned behind the ball. Ah, Lewis is bluffing - let the Roma wall think it’s him and move away at the last second for Enciso to hit top right corner of the net. And what happened . . . . . :tantrum:

Ward-Prowse, Trent, Dunk, Maddison, Trippier.

One of these is absolutely shit at freekicks.
Lewis is not as good as them no which is why hes only shot from 20 free kicks in 7.5 years. This 250 post thread discussing the problem with Dunk shooting from 2.6 free kicks per season is all the evidence you need that almost all our issues are of the luxuary kind

Yeah Prowse is an anomaly.

Even back to Becham's day, not many used to get scored. In a whole WC it might be one goal from a direct free kick. Then you'd get someone like Christiano come along and make it look easy, but it's been difficult for most people for decades.

I imagine someone can look up the stats of how many have been scored in each PL season.
