I thought he was excellent throughout. Dealt with time-wasting very early on - I can't remember ever seeing a premier league ref booking the goalkeeper in the first half?

Absolutely not the best we've seen at the Amex. I thought he did *alright* in the context of the timewasting antics.
Premier league refs wait until the 80th minute to book a goalie who has time wasted all match. Well done to the ref for doing it in the first half.

I really don't understand the desire to see keepers getting booked for time wasting. The keepers know's they can take the piss even more because they are never getting a 2nd yellow for time wasting.. They'll get constantly reminded to hurry up, but its just not happening - Plays perfectly into their hands....

I think we were lucky to get away with the high foot.
Gave way too many free kicks for players falling over after contact (for both sides, but it benefitted Roma as it was a key tactic for them)

It was a difficult game to officiate and I thought all in all the ref did pretty well even if I did give him a piece of my mind on occasion.

Possibly the best for us. Ruling out a perfectly good goal in the first half for them. He did seem to set his stall against their dark arts but there was only so far he could go.
General decision making seemed good both ways. Lamptey's card was a bit harsh mind.
The Arsenal v Porto ref in the ECL was a different gravy this week. Came in a Tardis from the 70s.

Thought he was great, better by some distance than his PL counterparts
