Kind of what I expected this evening, shithouse Italians battered 1-0 When it could have been 5 or more . . . . happy for all that we won, and deservedly so . . . .shame we shot ourselves in the foot last week.

If we'd played like ROma did tonight last week, we'd be in the draw now.

A steep learning curve for the club and an historic journey.

Shame we had so much momentum which ground to a halt with quick multiple substitutions . . .RDZ still has a lot to learn. I hope he stays another year or two to hone those skills. I doubt it though.

Fantastic game especially the first half one funny moment was half time an Italian was ejected from the upper west I didn’t witness what happened but I witnessed the dragging out by four security guys.
The funny bit was he was wearing the most flamboyant gold and black jacket that no one unless they were on strictly would dream of wearing, it got me wondering what was the internal conversation this guy had before coming was it something like “Right that’s brilliant I have got a ticket even though it’s in the home stand so how can I blend in to so as to not draw any attention let me think”

I’m unsure how Adringa is still on, I think he’s been really poor tonight.
I thought so too, he's quite erratic......

All sizzle and no sausage tonight.

Thought the whole performance was a bit frustrating, not enough intensity, still too many backwards passes, which slows it all down, and while we had some chances, the finishing was poor and just needed to take a few more (risks) shots from distance, just like Welbeck did and get a few more crosses whipped in which always looked dangerous and we had both Welbeck and Ferguson height in there.

Great journey, loved the EL and proud of the overall effort. Rome away killed us, but tonight we went out with a wimper,.

I thought Adingra was much better on the left tonight, moved over there too late.

Fati is so shit. Would’ve been better to leave Enciso on even though he was half fit and tiring.
Enciso looked very good in the first half and always looks like he's got a goal in him. Agree he should have been kept on - at least for a little longer.

Has anyone mentioned Poch & Wankstainley in the crowd? Apparently in the UEFA section of the WSL.
Boehly told them to go and check out, if there's anyone else he can add to the Chelsea and Hove Albion project.

We've all been on a European tour

It's been great. Even better than I expected. I'm counting down the seasons until the next one.

It has but i feel gutted it's over and that we didn't turn up when if mattered.

It was very hard to get there and it was all to easy to get knocked out.

Well, we turned up enough to top the group against 3 seasoned European campaigners. We beat ALL of them.

Then we came up short last week against last years finalists, and left ourselves too much to do. Yeah, it IS easy to get knocked out against Roma, who play in Europe every season. But then we went and beat them too.

I think we turned up in every game, and did ourselves proud.

Just got home and what a fantastic night. So very proud of the lads, thought our support was great tonight to. Waned towards the end but to be expected. And we beat Roma. Insane just writing that when you’ve seen us struggle against Darlington and Sudbury Town!

We need to stop feeling happy as a fan base and a club to think second best is an achievement. Personally I don’t think our players left everything out on that pitch last night. No urgency safe options played time and time again. What a relief it was when Igor took some responsibility and had a shot which caused a little bit of mayhem in their box. Tonight was the night to revert to good old fashioned English football pack the box and launch it we needed goals not a display of passing from side to side. We made it so easy for a Roma B team very disappointing.

I totally agree with you, and that makes a change haha, we continued to play safe far too often, Gross in particular was guilty.

Well I really enjoyed that. Knowing in your heart of hearts that you’re basically out of the tournament meant I’d got all that out of my system last week. Proud of the team. They scrapped, fought and at least brought home a win on the night.

The North Stand really did its bit tonight too. Maintained a great noise almost all of the night. A little lull with about five minutes to go, when we all knew the cause was lost, but then gathered breath and sent the team off with gusto. Loved “Dunk’s one of our own” ringing out to the rafters more or less on the stroke of full time.

Good effort. From all of us.

🤣 I’m fully expecting to get slated for my post but that is how I felt and to be fair all the fans around me agreed. I don’t think Roma once felt under pressure.

I commented at the game every time we went "agricultural" we caused them serious problems including their keeper pushing the ball out in dangerous areas. We failed far too often to do it when in a position to.

I don't disagree, and topping the group stage was an achievement to be rightly proud of.

Not turning up when it mattered was a reference only to our team performance/individual errors in Rome and not at all about our incredible qualifying campaign.

Roma were better over 2 legs, and agree we left ourselves to much to do, but what Roma did last year is as irrelevant to our own not turning up in Rome, as was the R32 game i watched live, that Roma were in for finishing second in their group, where they were second best in the 1-1 home game v Feyenoord, only getting through on pens. (Where Ali J missed!). None of that mattered when we rocked up.

We play that game in Rome 10x and I doubt they win 4-0 again. That's frustrating.

And thats the margins, its bloody tough to get in via the PL, then to qualify top from the hardest group, but one game when you're not at the races and it's over all to easily 😞

Just watching the rerun and on 68 minutes it's just what was said on commentary
