Ok, so we're all entitled to our opinions, but to go on national radio (TalkSport) after a night like tonight beating Roma and just slag of the club, Dunky, RDZ etc over the 1st leg was a disgrace. He just started wading in, going through the goals, the errors, Dunky in particular and RDZ as if it was the match tonight. I just wish if people phone in, they would show the club and fans in a good light otherwise outsiders will think we're a bunch of entitled idiots, which most of us are not. Tonight was all about showing what we could do despite not having our European star Pedro out, our breakout player Hinshelwood out, our Japanes superstar winger Mitoma out, our home grown star March out, our European medal laden star Milner out and half the team only able to manage 60 minutes of football for various post injury reasons. Brighton have had a wonderful first season on in Europe topping a Group of European giants whilst remaining in contention for another crack in Europe next season. We capped it all with a rousing night and victory and against Roma, yes European giants Roma. I switched off Brighton fan Paul as I couldn't continue to listen to him moaning and boring on about the first leg when we put in such a terrific performance like tonight. It was as if we hadn't played tonight. Brighton fan Paul, please keep your miserable thoughts to yourself and focus on the uplifting night we had tonight rather than publicly dwelling on old news.

A lot to unpack there.

Firstly I would say that folk are entitled to their opinions. They don't have to tow any line that involves portraying the club in any particular way. But, more importantly, if those listening think that a single opinion represents an entire fanbase then the problem rests there.

I’m possibly being unfair but I’m not sure who are the most in need of help: people who call in to football phone ins, or those who actually listen to them.
In the car, driving home from the match after an excellent face saving win, not unreasonable to want to listen to a football show and hear a little positivity and praise to end the night on a high. Obviously the presenters are dickheads, but hoped for better from our own fans.

That's fine, but he was banging on about the wrong bloody match. And it's toe the line, not tow.

Perhaps TS’s stirrers chose the angry caller over happy callers?

The people who call, clearly!

As for 'Paul', why didn't he mention all that last week?

Fair enough. I can genuinely say I’ve never actually listened to Talk Sport but have heard enough comments about it and the apparently endless commercials for Trust A Trader to realise that given a choice I’d probably prefer listening to sound of my life slowly ebbing away.

Had “Paul” been at the game? Whenever I’ve listened to that crap it strikes me that 99% of the losers who call in to TS never go to games, it’s why they are mainly ‘big 6’ plastic idiots. They are calling in because they need to somehow ‘share’ their joy/misery/anger with anyone who will listen because their cat in their living room doesn’t give a shit. I didn’t think we had any/many of those fans but perhaps an unwanted byproduct of our success is that this becomes inevitable.

I should have called in, but I’ve only just got home!

Proud of the effort and the way we tried to turn it around, wasn’t to be and we really do need some breaks and a keeper to have a shit game against us.

We still have the league to concentrate on and players getting back to fitness after injury…oh and Barco to slot in

Correcting folk's spelling is so 2010s. Any more of that and you'll be sent to Argus Comments

The strangest ones are the folk who text in with their analysis of a match that they didn't attend.

Anyway, yes, disappointing nonetheless. Especially from the Deputy Chairman :nono:
