He put a good cross in when he first came on and had a pop shot from 30 yards in the 90th minute, what else?

Drives me insane when he’s on the pitch as a winger but constantly drifts into an overcrowded middle. Eventually RDZ put Buononatte and Adingra out wide to stop it tonight.

I genuinely cannot get my head round how this kid was meant to be one of the best in the world not long ago. He’s shown no elite level attributes.
That’s because he’s not a winger. He’s a 10 and we have far too many of them and not enough wingers.

A front four of Adingra (or March), Fati, Mitoma, Joao Pedro would beat almost any team we encounter. But injury and failure to strengthen mean we’re constantly playing square pegs in round holes.

Whilst I agree his reluctance to take his man on is frustrating and a sign of his fragile confidence, I thought he had one of his best games for us tonight (not a huge sample I’ll admit!). Seemed to get the bit between his teeth and showed more desire than he has previously.
Exactly where I am, some clever play and good movement

Let's just put this all to bed now. He's crap. He won't be here next season. He shouldn't be playing any more ahead of any of our own players.
Ten games left including Arsenal, Liverpool, City, Chelsea and United. We’re probably one or two injuries away from going into them with a bunch of reserve / U21s.

We’re basically going to have to play whoever’s fit:shrug:

I thought he was superb when he came on this evening.

Here’s hoping he can prove his worth in the remaining fixtures this season. There’s clearly a player in there.
I thought he played well yeah. Did more than Adingra on the other side who had a real quiet game

He’s proved all of us who said he’s not a winger months ago correct, undoubtedly. But for the outrageous money we’re spending on him, I think it’s fair to expect him to take his man on.

Ultimately, it looks like poor recruitment. At best, imbalanced recruitment, especially with RDZ as manager. A man who doesn’t need a pocket 10 like Fati as much as he needs wide players who take defenders on. Especially when you already have several players who could play in the 10, and only three who can actually play as proper wingers, one of whom was ruled out for the season months ago, and two others who missed months because of international tournaments.

Poor recruitment decision from the club.
Poor performances from the player.
(Possibly) poor use of him from the manager.

Can’t believe some of these comments - did more than Adringa, Ferguson, Baounotte, Enciso (this one’s a bit harsh ) !
What did he do bar one decent cross and a shot from 30 yards?

I’m not saying the names you’ve mentioned were better, but I didn’t see Fati contribute anything much more meaningful than them.

I’ll drive him back to Barcelona myself. Actually, no I won’t. The lazy **** can pay for himself with the money he’s been stealing for the last 6 months.

He's clearly a talent, but I just don't think he looks overly bothered. Its always a danger when a player arrives on loan from a bigger (in this case HUGE) club, making a step down. He's easily brushed off the ball, doesn't run the channels or overly exert himself when we're out of possession. And when he gets on the ball he invariably runs down blind alleys into traffic. I can't remember the last time he actually beat a player.

I can probably count on 1 hand the positive contributions he's made this season. Sadly he's been a huge let down, and I expect Bloom is very disappointed at the financial outlay on him, compared with the return. I was cock-a-hoop when we signed him, but we ended up with a largely disinterested crock. I certainly won't miss him next season.

Bang average with flashes of brilliance.

Shame he got injured as he looked like he was turning into a player for us. But honestly we have better in Mitoma and Julio.
