Was going to mention the Athletic article too, No Dunk for any of 6 football journalists.

Most have Colwill in and 1 even has Tomori ahead of Dunk which is madness
Dunks been poor recently plus he’s carrying a knock. Given his injuries in the last 2 squads probably hasn’t helped either

He hasnt been poor, hes made a couple of costly mistakes.

But by Southgates metrics in continually picking Slabhead when he wasnt even playing and had numerous and worse clangers than Dunk.

"He's never let down the national team"

And nor did player of the match Dunk.

For me it’s mentality, I’m not sure Dunk quite has absolute top level mentality as we’ve seen through his career in pressure situations. This would be his last tournament and personally I’m not sure I’d want him starting for England so given his injuries and some ‘costly mistakes’ in the last few months I’d not bother with him I don’t think.

I think against most weaker sides you'd want Dunk in the starting line up when we dominate the ball. Let alone in the squad. I can see question marks defensively on recent form but before that he's had about 3 great years and would definitely deserve a squad place.

I think he'll make this squad, but less sure about the actual Euros squad.

Importantly, the squad size for that has been restored to the traditional 23 (after being increased to 26 for the last couple due to cover for possible covid absences, etc)

I pray that the waistcoat wanker does not pick Dunk for these two pointless, meaningless friendlies.

We really don't need our captain crocked for the run-in even if he may not have been at the very top of his form in recent weeks.

If Dunk doesn't make this squad, then Dunk doesn't go to the Euros.

Dunk deserves to go to the Euros.

If it wasn't for a Bellingham masterclass against Scotland he would have been MOM in his last 2 games for England.

He was brilliant in both and the football world was unanimous in high praise for him.

He has to be in.

He deserves a call up and deserves to go with our blessing.

If he hadn't struggled with injuries since the end of last season hed be a shoe-in alongside Stones. Unfortunately he has. Younger players will be ahead of him now.

Henderson, Slabhead, Trippier - I imagine Southgate is thrilled now JLingz is playing in Korea. He could have the full WC 2018 side back if he gets his way.

I get where youre coming from, but that would be an incredibly selfish viewpoint of our fanbase!

Lewis Dunk has given sweat, blood and tears for us for over a decade, he is our leader, our Captain and he's Brighton through and through.

Playing for your country at a major tournamount is a highest aspiration of every footballer, how would we conciously begrudge a club servant like Dunk that honour, just in case he misses a couple of PL games for us?

Of course we cant. He deserves it, and I hope for his sake he is selected as it would be the pinacle for a true club legend.

I'm guessing maybe Dunk in at expense of Konsa , and Branthwaite (in for Lewis ? ) alongside Stones (in for Tomori ? ) , Maguire, and Trippier, Walker.
Might be tough cos Dier also in with a shout. and obviously he's been watching Henderson at Ajax.

I really don’t get the hype around Branthwaite. Yes he’s a good defender but from what I’ve seen he’s awful on the ball (although playing for a Dyche team might be the reason why).
