No one is actually thinking we could have a 5:0 ‘comeback’ against Roma on Thursday are they?! That wouldn’t be a ‘happy clappy comeback’, it’ll be a bleedin miracle me lovelies

I don’t remember all the matches mentioned above but I suspect most of them that came back from high goal scoring deficits were teams more or less either as least as good as the team they were trailing or better. We are not up to the level of Roma even on a good day, they are simply a better team - certainly not good enough to a/ keep a clean sheet and b/ to score 5 goals against them imo. They play an all round better game link up game than us and at a much faster past - they can be vulnerable in defence but we’d need a level of accuracy in our shooting to take advantage of that which is something we simply don’t possess imo. If Roma were having an off day, and we were having a good one and played at a level I k ow we can, we could maybe pull off a win but 5:0 is too much of a stretch for me 🙂

We don’t need to win 5-0, 4 goals gets us to pens. I have a feeling about this don’t know why.

The thought of De Zerbi sending out a team that has to score 4 goals is exciting and hilarious in equal measures.

It's going to be chaos.
It's going to be 0-4 again.

Sorry, sorry... I mean, let's do this! COME ON!!!

I'm a 'Happy Clappy' person and when trying to say to Jnr the other day that big comebacks can happen, I used an example of Sheffield beating Feyenoord 5-0. I don't think that is a real example but they were the only 2 teams I could remember that were mentioned on threads after our drubbing at Roma. I'd be grateful for some real examples, that I'll try to remember. ;)
Unfortunatley we don't have the fire power fit to score one goal unassisted let alone 5. If Mitoma, Hinslewood, Pedro, Ferguson and the rest were fit maybe, but then if they were fit I doubt very much we would be in this position. Personally I would just field a side to fill the numbers and focus on the rest of this PL season and try to qualify for Europe next year wiser and older and hopefully fully fit.

We’ll be posting in the “should’ve put a grand on to win the tie” thread come Friday.

It will happen early on. From kick off we will run through on goal, the keeper will take Wee Billy down outside the area, sent off. The two CB's will fight each other over the space afforded Wee Billy, both sent off. We score the freekick, a Dunk screamer. The replacement keeper then handles outside the area denying a goal, sent off. We score the resulting freekick.

The rest is history we lose 2-3 (2-7)

I might be wrong but I think he got run over
You are probably right. Some female crazy I vaguely remember, but it was all a dream anyway.
Edit: Bobby turned to childhood sweetheart Jenna Wade (Priscilla Presley; previously Morgan Fairchild and Francine Tacker) and they became engaged. Katherine ran Bobby down with her car, where he later died in hospital from his injuries.

One of my favourites was January 1985:
Portsmouth 4-4 Fulham

The #twats were 4-0 up on 39 minutes and it was still 4-1 on 74 minutes.

And the best bit is that it ended up costing them promotion. Lovely stuff. :lolol:

I think one can “realise it‘s possible” without “expecting” it.
Stranger things have happened!

This

but not this

led to this

As if I didn’t …then this

but not in response to this

When all I said was this

Suggesting because we lost to Luton, Roma could lose to us

Except this

or this

did not attract a response like this

Finally this, ignored while my original post (above) still being targeted and quoted as the only one who doubts we can win by 5 goals on Thursday 🤷‍♂️

Perhaps you’d like to take some of the heat for a while - at least I said we should go out to win and it wasn’t 100% impossible just extremely unlikely . :lolol:
Read the room! No one wants a sensible or realistic evaluation of our chances on a thread clearly intended to be outrageously optimistic. And very few readers ever bother reading posts over one paragraph long.

I was going to delete my post because I can’t be bothered replying to people continuously having a go for my original post or posting a silly light-heated cartoon of a flying pig. But you piled in too so why don’t you read the room? - It is not just me who has said it is extremely unlikely we can get a 5 goal difference on Thursday. I’ve quoted at least 4 or 5 other people who have also posted realistic or sensible responses to our chances on Thursday that no one has objected to..some even saying we shouldn’t even bother to try.

You can’t decide that a thread is only allowed to have posts that support the original premise of the thread or only one side is allowed to hold unrealistic or lighthearted views and that no one is allowed to counter them.

Anyway, dream on.

One of my favourites was a penalty shootout, Wolves v Sheffield Weds mid 90s. I stand to be corrected but Wolves missed their first two and Weds scored their first 3, so it’s 3-0 at one point, things then went shit shaped for Weds and Wolves made it 4-3 after the first sudden death kick.
So as they say…🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
