f*** off kill joy! 😉

chances are 'slim to Karen Carpenter' granted, but we have a chance . . . with your attitude you're never getting on TB's pay roll! Stay at home.
LOL I was told to fcuk off in not so many words by several posters on the match thread for saying we should field our best available team on Thursday and play to win. I had the piss taken out of me for saying everyone should turn up on Thursday and give our team support.

After Roma - I started a thread specifically as a positive response to all the negativity on NSC recently supporting what the Club is doing and where we are etc.

I maybe many things but killjoy isn’t one of them 👍

But 5:0 - yep chances ‘slim to Karen Carpenter’ and pigs might fly.

You didn’t read my post properly- i asked if any one actually believed we can make a comeback and beat Roma by 5:0? I guess that was the point of the ‘happy clappy‘ thread?

You didn’t need to trawl anywhere else, you just needed not to read something into my post that wasn’t there - I said absolutely NOTHING ABOUT NOT MAKING AN EFFORT TO WIN on Thursday - you simply made that up.

Rankings - at least we are in to top 50 - that impressive

Why are you getting so upset? I apologise if it will make you feel better.
Oh and the second part of my original post was actually a general comment and not one specifically in reaction to your post, if that is what you are upset about.

No one is actually thinking we could have a 5:0 ‘comeback’ against Roma on Thursday are they?! That wouldn’t be a ‘happy clappy comeback’, it’ll be a bleedin miracle me lovelies

I don’t remember all the matches mentioned above but I suspect most of them that came back from high goal scoring deficits were teams more or less either as least as good as the team they were trailing or better. We are not up to the level of Roma even on a good day, they are simply a better team - certainly not good enough to a/ keep a clean sheet and b/ to score 5 goals against them imo. They play an all round better game link up game than us and at a much faster past - they can be vulnerable in defence but we’d need a level of accuracy in our shooting to take advantage of that which is something we simply don’t possess imo. If Roma were having an off day, and we were having a good one and played at a level I k ow we can, we could maybe pull off a win but 5:0 is too much of a stretch for me 🙂

Of course we can't - it's literally impossible.

But score one in the first 10 minutes or so, and another before halftime and the impossible could become possible.

Surely if the 'impossible' can become 'possible' it can't be 'literally impossible'?

Anyway - forget 5-0, I'm going for 6-1.

I've got a feeling. A slight feeling that we are going to do it

Two early goals and the AMEX will go electric

Come on!

Has a Sheffield Wednesday 2016 play off semi final second leg feel about it and that day we were 'only' chasing a 2-0 deficit.

We'll come out of the blocks quickly once again, no doubt. The rest I'll leave to your respective imaginations.

P.s: I seem to remember two of Middlesbrough's 2006 Uefa Cup knockout second legs at the Riverside were breathtaking comebacks.

Why not believe that we can do it? It is, as you say unlikely but it's not over until it's over. From the examples posted it's possible! It's been fun whatever the outcome (aside from a few incidents).

Playing snooker
Harold Bishop in Neighbours. Went down to the beach, got washed off the rocks and disappeared, then wandered into the Erinsborough coffee shop years later claiming to have had amnesia.
I’m fully expecting that Roberto will make the squad watch this episode in the video-analysis session this week and pin up a picture of Harold in the dressing room on Thursday.

If Welbeck scores, expect him to rip off his top, revealing an under vest with a picture Bouncer the dog on it.

We believe.

Not sure about that. Rumours now that Max Verstappen wants to leave Red Bull....
Probably worthy of it's own thread but that's not going to happen anytime soon...and also look how the press has moved away from him immenitely getting sacked / him being labelled as all sorts of things - now the chat is about a power struggle.

As a Barca fan probably nothing will ever beat that comeback against PSG. We were on the wrong side of the comebacks too ofc (Roma, Liverpool - in back to back years to make it worse).

From a neutral perspective this one was pretty impressive.

Deportivo lost away game 1-4 then won 4-0 at home against a very good AC Milan team in 2004.

You’re giving Roma too much credit and us not enough. They are not a much better team than us. There’s a reason why we were the bookie’s favourites to progress to the next round.

It is possible for us to beat them 4-0 like they did to us. Just very unlikely.

We were nowhere near our best on Thursday but play that game again and it could easily have been 2-2. It wasn’t a one-sided demolition as the scoreline suggests.

We had plenty of chances. The difference was clinical finishing.

P.S. please don’t throw your toys out in response to this like you seem to with anyone who disagrees with you on here. Thanks!
