Can anyone recommend where my daughter could get her C1 driving licence in the Shoreham/Brighton/Worthing area at a hopefully cost effective cost please?

She passed her driving test last April 23 but is looking to start a paramedic training course in September which needs the C1 (van) licence .

My son did an assessment with them to see if he fancied learning to drive a lorry. He enjoyed his day but got a different job and decided not to go down that route.

Sorry to hijack the post, but I'm sure that not many people are aware that when you do a three year degree training as a paramedic you have to work, unpaid, in the NHS for 2,400 hours, luckily though you can still pay for your travel and the bloody car park! Some Health Trusts will pay for your C1 but in others you have to pay for it yourself!

She got top marks in her A levels but having thought it through, she’s applying to do a paid trainee paramedic practitioner role rather than an initial full time degree at a university. It seems a lot of her friends are doing similar apprenticeship roles having considered the cost v value aspects of a degree or apprenticeships. She’ll have to cope with working within the NHS for a few years as you mention but it’s preferable to her (and me!) rather than paying for an initial full time degree. If all goes to plan, then I think the Trust will then find a part time degree after 2/3 years if she successfully progresses.🤞 Bank of Dad will have to find her C1!
