Yep. Loads of lads with liquid courage giving it large. I saw one bloke pointing at his own neck tattoo as identification and then gesturing to 'meet outside' at a load of their fans.

He would have lasted about 0.4 seconds if they'd have got to him I reckon.
We were in the curva nord right by the fence and saw the two Brighton guys who spent the whole game goading the Roma fans, it was fine until the goals starting going in...

I can just imagine the conversations between a RDZ and Paul Barber, talk about opposite personalities. Love to be a fly on the wall. 😂
Suspect someone like PBOBE is EXACTLY what Roberto needs to balance his personality..........imagine having a CEO with similar traits..........relationship would be over in days :lolol:

Great interview by PBOBE - very down to earth I thought.

His main message re. Stabbings -Don’t over react - the majority of Roma fans are well behaved and we don’t need Brighton fans looking for revenge on the 14th.

Also recognises that we are missing key players - PB says not excuses but facts - says RDZ has done a ‘fantastic job’ - but we are still learning about Europe - the level we need to compete at.

PB acknowledges we have had a bad run recently - partly because of workload and injuries have compounded that - Roberto hasn’t been able to rotate as much, Enciso coming back from injury, March a big loss etc - most of us have recognised that all has impacted on our recent performances.

We are lucky IMO to have a CEO that is so highly respected in both Europe and English League football and such an articulate advocate for the Club. He clearly has a high regard for RDZ too and recognises the challenges that RDZ has faced - I think that comes across.

Says when we put it all into perspective- we are in a pretty good place right now. ( Think I said much the same thing only yesterday 😉)
PB will be very happy with extra revenue from Europa

Plenty of nutters about. I stood by the Roma fans and some of our fans just spent the whole game goading them. Most of them skinny streaks of piss. One kid stood on the seat offering them outside then got hit by a lighter and sheepishly went to the other end away from their fans 😂 there will be plenty looking for trouble I would imagine when they come to Brighton

Reminded me of Marseille a bit .... More nutters than normal. Paul samrah was near me and when dunk made the mistake he even completely lost his mind going into a rage !!!
There was a mix of BHAFC offering Roma fans V signs etc. in front of us a woman was hit in the head by a bottle…she was giving it, as we’re here friends (ages mid 30s to 60s).

No one wants idiots at a match but we’ll get them, every club does. I don’t like the unacceptable narrow mindedness of your comments on other fans…I assume you saw the homophobic abuse, throat slitting motions and Nazi salutes from Roma fans?? One man brought his small son over to the plexiglass about an hour before the match, just to give out fans shit.

A couple of fans swapped scarves with Roma after the final whistle.

The majority of our fans are fine but there are a few morons, but let’s stop judging everyone. It’s petty and let’s face it, PB shows what he thinks of us …we can’t even be trusted with flasks and bottle tops. All of us.

Barber is spot on in calling out UEFA (in entirely reasonable tones) for their consistent failure to impose any sort of meaningful sanction on European clubs for the actions of their supporters.
He's right apart from one thing he should be demanding that Roma are thrown out of the competition and we offered a bye.

I have one sitting on me desk right now. I still use them. This is identical to the one I had back in the 70s

I thought that's what we all used?

I think of PB joining us as spelling the end of Poyet's time.

TB was hands-off, entrusting Ken Brown to manage Poyet, his demands and ego. PB is in a different league, he reigned in Poyet's power on transfers, we gained the structure of a large business.

Have been watching old seasons of the F1 Drive to Surrvive series this week and the inter personalities between drivers, owners and Team principals is clearly very important for success.

Personality wise just imaging RDZ working with someone like Lawrence Stroll after RDZ has told his son his blood isn’t hot enough!

I will give Barber one thing, he is more loyal to us than I thought he'd be.
Roberto, has a record of two years then move on and repeat. I believe he will bottle it and move before next season.

"if he (RDZ) has asked Tony a couple of times, he's asked me 100 times". I recall him saying that both PB and TB love being pushed by RDZ in respect of aspirations as that's only a positive for the club - what would they/we rather have - a manager pushing all the time or a manager content with his lot?
It is what it is.

Fair play to Paul Barber...he's very level headed
And that's what we want from a CEO. The morning (or afternoon) after the night before and I'm still immensely proud of our club. I'd rather have European football and get knocked out by Roma (one of Europe's giants) than have no European football at all. He's totally right - it is a HUGE learning curve and WE ARE LEARNING.

Hopefully next time we are in Europe we can go further than the last 16 but we still have a hugely talented squad, who are suffering a bit of a wobble at the moment, but with some further strengthening in the summer can hopefully go well again next season.

Definitely half glass full for me.

I understand the seats in the away end are being modified as we speak ..trial area on Sunday ..watch the odd Forest fan pop up

On a serious note wish the three injured a comfortable journey home ..how an earth JA is coping with a plane flight .. not as though u can stand up all flight 🤔
