It sounded good, but also weird. When Lukaku had that chance in the second minute the decibel noise didn't change. And when we hit the post in the 5th minute the exact same. Took a few replays to realise how good both those chances were. I quite like a crowd noise that rises and falls with the ebb of the game.
Just saying to Jnr, the atmosphere was odd.
It felt like the fans really wanted to be 'organic' while the club itself did everything it possibly could to be 'plastic'.
It was a palace wet dream.

Wasn’t as good as I was expecting in all honesty, wouldn’t say I’m some European football expert, now done 90 matches abroad and plenty have been louder than last night.
There's some Catholic Priest / Pope stuff that practically writes itself
Not just Brighton though, its English football in general been sanitised and gentrified for the past 30 years since the Premier League made it all about money.
However it does not help that we have a home stand not fit for purpose.

We’re British, not hot headed Latinos that stab, chant racist remarks, throw missiles and hold up vile banners under the guise of so called “passion” and the tacit approval of their clubs, police and politicians.
Italian fans have a very poor reputation, deservedly so. We prioritise safety and a welcoming law abiding atmosphere. I know what I prefer. Moreover, for all their passion it’s the PL teams that win the Euro trophies proving money trumps passion anyway. So let ‘em bang their drums in a fog of smoke and flares. Means you can’t see the dull fayre they serve up half the time!

Is that banner the best they’ve got? Probably why they resort to throwing lighters and coins, and need 7 masked guys to jump 2 of our fans.
At least their fans didn’t switch sides during the game, something which the Italians have been prone to more than once in fairly recent history ……
