Love the guy. He’s shown ambition beyond anything we’ve ever seen before AND matched that with our highest ever league finish and European adventure.

However…

At the start of the season, the very thought of his leaving felt catastrophic. It doesn’t feel that way anymore. We’ve lost the element of surprise. I hope he stays. I want him to stay. But if he goes…

Well, then we move on.

This!

Had a few hours sleep, and the 1664 has worn off and it feels very different now.
His quote in the Telegraph and Athletic have given me a bit of hope that he isn't just a bombastic idealogue.

Tony didn't back him, and his petulance has impacted on the belief in the team (and fans).

I hope he's good enough to go back and take an honest look at the past 3 months and come up with some answers.

Not bothered about what happens for the rest of the season.
The key targets have been achieved
  • Beat Palace
  • Stay up
This season has been incredible, just a bridge too far.

Last night we fielded 6 players aged 23 and younger
Whilst we are starting to consider the likes of Van Hecke, Enciso, Adingra and Buanonotte "first teamers", in reality this is their first full season playing at this level.

Contrast that with Roma's starting 11.
Their youngest player was 24 .
Lukaku was their oldest player at 30.

A team at their peak, and in good form.
No surprise about the result and no recriminations to the players or RDZ.

Hopefully everybody learns a lot from the game and the European experience.

Still a lot to look forward to.
I hope he stays..

Poor bugger never stood a chance this season. World class midfield flogged off from under him in the Summer and a long and unrelenting injury list has put paid to any real progress. Europa League showing was miraculous under the curcumstances, as is the somewhat flattering league position
This is pretty accurate. We miss everything Ali Mac is in terms of football brain. The caicedo we sold still has all the attributes in the right team to be a brilliant footballer especially if passing improves. Replaced with a 19 year old who has potential to be amazing. But for the way we play you need that player with a football brain who understands what is needed and knits everything together. Ali Mac was that man. RDZ has still done a great job this year I hope he stays

Quite.

Where do people who want to change the manager think we should be?

It's unreasonable to expect a season at least as good as last given the circumstances.

It’s not so much the results and league position. I think most of us accept that we’ve had injuries to key players and having the extra 8 Europa fixtures will make things harder. Main issue, for me anyway, is the general demeanour and criticism of the transfer policy.
