Yet your bigotry towards folk from Stoke/Burnley (insert any rundown working class English town here) may be awkward πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Good point well made. That was a short political career.

Anyone can stand as a Cllr in the city of Brighton and Hove as long as they meet the below criteria
  • British or a citizen of the Commonwealth or European Union.
  • at least 18 years old.
  • registered to vote in the area or have lived, worked or owned property there for at least 12 months before an election.
I went to the Goldstone and Priestfield, I’d argue this is proportionate to meeting the criteria

We need more of this to be fair, pure box office

The most curious thing..
Out of interest does anyone know the definition of β€œliving in Brighton”? For most councillors this isn’t an issue but how does it work for β€œedge” cases? For international residency it’s usually 6 months plus one day.
Usually a pop up tent in a doorway somewhere on the Old Steine.

At the risk of starting another argument πŸ™„ The criteria has changed for EU citizens post Brexit - EU citizens that were living in the UK up to the 31 December 2020, will still retain their candidacy rights. After this dates, it depends on whether or not there is a reciprocal agreement in place for each Member State that allows British citizens living in the EU to stand for election. These are being separately negotiated. So far only Spain, Poland, Luxembourg and Portugal have reciprocity with the UK so any citizen of another European Country who arrived after 2020 will lose their voting and candidacy rights.
You won’t start an argument with me, I agree with everything thing you say πŸ˜‰

Sussex Police investigating these two charlatans
Labour confirmed that these two were selected by the Regional Party not the local team.

β€œLabour’s candidates for the local elections were selected by the regional party following scandals which saw a number of councillors suspended or quit the party over allegations of anti-Semitism.”

At f***ing last, now these two wards can have a bi election and hopefully the local party won’t be bullied into fronting outsiders who are obviously on the approved regional party list, pair of absolute ****s.

β€œIt has been an immense privilege to serve my community, and more than anything I will miss the interactions with the residents whose causes I take up. Seeing their lives improved through the work I have done has been immensely rewarding.”

This woman is shameless writing that !

Is this not fraud? Is there a criminal investigation?

Who knows, I wonder if the Rt Hon member for that area signed the paperwork supporting these grifters?

Anyway the council will now have to fund a third by-election in less than a year of office, will the local tax payer be footing this bill or will the Labour Party step up and and cover the costs seeing as it’s their monumental clusterfuck? Sankey will blame the Greens and the Government for this shambles.
