No they are cartridges, mind you the stylus replacement are not much cheaper.

I was never much of a collector but glad I kept mine from yesteryear, such as everything the Smiths did, tho they are not collectibles after my cat used them as scratching posts

I have some Audio technica fake 1210's in the man cave which could do with better cartridge/stylus, there are plenty of good online reviews as well as ozzy gulls (good) summary .

as for vinyl, today I'm listening to the Saints . . . And Rezillos albums. Both crackers.

What Rega do you have? I have a Planar 8 with apheta3 mc cart. I was amazed as well when I heard it,

I’m no audiophile, something either sounds, amazing, great, really good, good, OK or rubbish

I have turned in to a bit of a sad act when it comes to turntables. I love them and since I started this thread, I have collected a few.
