i honestly don’t think it even matters if fati and dahoud were RDZ signings. if you don’t trust his eye for a successful signing, that’s fine.

in no way does that negate him saying “i’m short in these positions and i would like the club to invest some money into them”. whether or not he’s picking the players, the need for cover is still there and the club then subsequently has a decision to make. its like when fans say we should have got another fullback, for example, and then people respond with “well who would you bring in?”. that’s the recruitment team’s job.

I don’t think Fati has been that bad either. Was playing well before injury. Having a couple of bad games after coming back from
Injury isn’t unknown for a player.

We have Gross, Milner, Hinshelwood, Gilmour, Baleba and Moder to play in the pivot.

Hinshelwood, Milner, Lamptey, Estupinan and Veltman at full back, plus Barco now.

January is a notoriously hard time to sign players. If we had have bought KDH for £30m we would have spent double what any other premier league side had spent. The problem stems back to Caicedo angling for a move in my opinion and Chelsea mucking around with inadequate bids.

Yes. And we won’t be so successful during those seasons. However, if we don’t look and don’t give these youngsters a run in the team then we will never find them. It’s not strange at all to be pleased that Caicedo was put straight into the team as soon as needed.

I’d agree here, I think the plan was to always allow Mac to go for the right money but keep Cas. Chelsea drew it out and Tony waited for the right money, a record fee. That took the heart out of our team.

His reputation will regress if he can't show that he can adapt his tactics to the vagaries of injuries, and opposition strategies and line-ups. That's been obvious since December, when the benefit of the doubt he'd enjoyed during the previous 2 fruitless months gradually began to evaporate. I have no idea why he's been continually trying to fit square pegs into round holes. He should have admitted long ago that he needs different shapes and approaches to make up for the absence of specific players, and when De Zerbi ball is neutred by opponents who rely on bus parking and counter-attacks.

Anyway, it's all been said ad nauseam before since the New Year. We're just venting and repeating ourselves, hoping some of our noise reaches RDZ's ears.

The only disappointment for me was letting Undav go and not replacing him. Welbeck has a terrible injury record. When he is out he is out for a good stretch.

Welbeck being our first & best option now is cheap IMO. I mean he’s alright score’s occasionally has experience & link up play although often stumbles like Bambi on ice at the crucial moment. Lack of competition upfront is weak this season. Although Undav wanted to leave for personal reasons I think he adds an extra 9 points on to our present tally superb finisher.

It would ensure we receive more compensation if he does go, and it limits potential suitors to those that can afford to take him

So yeah if he wants to go then he won't sign the new contract but don't go on moaning about transfers in the mean time. He's starting out like Gus carried on

Undav has scored 14 goals in 20 games for Stuttgart, give a striker the right service and they will repay you. Over play the build up so the striker always has his back to goal and is surrounded by defenders and he will struggle

We had arguably the second or third best midfield in the league at the end of Potter’s last full season. We’re easily in the bottom 10 now. Without Gilmour bottom three.
