The BBC has acquired the Irish crime drama Kin, an eight-part series that stars like likes of Clare Dunne, Charlie Cox, Aidan Gillen, Ciarán Hinds, Sam Keeley, Emmett J. Scanlan, Maria Doyle Kennedy and newcomer Yasmin Seky.

It tells the story of how when a boy is killed and his family embarks on a gangland war with an international cartel: a war that is impossible to win. The Kinsellas are a local crime family, while the Cunningham cartel is a vast global organisation. It is David and Goliath. Out-numbered, out-financed and out-gunned, the Kinsellas find themselves holed up in their Dublin stronghold while their businesses fail, and family members and associates are picked off. But they have something the cartel does not: the unbreakable bonds of blood and family. They are kin.

Danish series Prisoner starts on Saturday 24th February at 9pm starring Nordic crime queen Sofie Gråbøl.

The six-episode series revolves around the lives of four prison officers—Henrik (David Dencik), Miriam (Gråbøl), Sammi (Youssef Wayne Hvidtfeldt), and Gert (Charlotte Fich). Their personal challenges intertwine with the complexities of their workplace, a prison plagued by bad press, hierarchy issues, and a drug trade. When faced with the imminent closure of the prison, they embark on a risky investigation to salvage their jobs, triggering a battle for survival within and beyond the prison walls.

As per usual with BBC Four, the series will be shown in weekly double bills.

They might as well hand over the Bafta's now. It's brilliantly written and superbly acted.
I'm finding it very disturbing and I'm sure the Northern Ireland Tourism Board won't be sharing any snippets in their advertising campaigns.

Blue Lights was one of 2023’s breakout hits. The BBC One show has now been renewed for a third and fourth series, even before season two has aired.
Co-created and written by Declan Lawn and Adam Patterson, Blue Lights followed three new PSNI probationary recruits as they navigated their way through their first few months in a uniquely complex place to be a response police officer.
Reprising their roles in the forthcoming second series are Siân Brooke (Grace Ellis), Martin McCann (Stevie Neil), Katherine Devlin (Annie Conlon), Nathan Braniff (Tommy Foster), Joanne Crawford (Helen McNally), Andi Osho (Sandra Cliff), and Hannah McClean (Jen Robinson). Also set to return are Paddy Jenkins (Happy Kelly), Desmond Eastwood (Murray Canning), Jonathan Harden (Jonty) and Andrea Irvine (Nicola Robinson). Joining them for the second series is Frank Blake as new Constable Shane Bradley, along with Seamus O’Hara as Lee Thompson and Seána Kerslake as his sister Mags.
The BBC says series two will air this spring.

BBC Four has confirmed transmission details for upcoming Kiwi crime drama, The Gone.

The six-part series follows the journey of Irish detective Theo Richter (Richard Flood) who teams up with a Kiwi detective, Diana Huia (Acushla-Tara Kupe), when a young Irish couple go missing from a rural New Zealand town. Their job isn’t made any easier by the community’s growing concern that the disappearances may be linked to a series of historical murders, putting the whole town on edge.

The series also stars Manu Bennett, Michelle Fairley and Carolyn Bracken.



Starts two days after we have beaten AS Roma 5 nothing at home.

Amazing footage tied in with reconstructions - a must watch film.

It’s already been on RTE where I watched it. It’s not the paciest of those Saturday night BBC4 dramas that I suspect is where it’s placed but I enjoyed it
