Given where they might finish in the league I'd imagine they'd still owe us money.

I first saw Mheuka at a primary school yr5/6 tournament in Burgess Hill. The lad was Outragously good and way beyond his years physically. And i mean the other kids thought he was 16! The whispers that day were he was already with Brighton and that Chelsea had tried every trick to entice him and parents to Cobham but they had said he was to stay at Brighton. A few years later I believe Chelsea came calling again and the rest is history. For his age it was thought by many at Lancing that he would be a star in the making.

Not disputing how good he is (I’ve never seen him) but lots of physically mature players at a young age look “exceptional” then a few years later when the other kids have got bigger and stronger they become disillusioned because they are no longer the best, and drop down the pecking order.
Is this lad Mheuka still considered a potential top talent at Chelsea?

Apart from his international appearances which @The Pilsbury Echo has posted above, he is still an U-16 schoolboy (so won't start his scholarship until the summer) but has already scored 9 goals for the Chelsea U-18s in 14 matches so far this season (which is more than any Albion U-18 player has achieved).

Every little helps.
I remember the wonder kid Freddy Adu signing for DC United when he was 14, it was pretty much all downhill from there. Saw him play for the Las Vegas Lights a few years back and he was truly hopeless. I hope these kids look after themselves.

Former Albion academy player Tayo Subuloye (who is an U-16 this season) started for Chelsea as they won the U-17 Premier League Cup yesterday beating Wolves 3-1. Shim Mheuka came on as a sub and within seven minutes both Wolves CBs had been booked for fouling him.
Next, you'll be telling me he's never heard of Tayo Subuloye.

Could be a while before we get that £7M - there's a lot of £250K and £150K increments needed along the way to get to those magic millions! For example -
"A Professional Football Compensation Committee (PFCC) ruled at a hearing last week that Chelsea must pay Brighton an initial basic fee of £1m for the signing of forward Mheuka and £900,000 for left-back Sturge. These could rise to as much as £4.25m and £3.4m respectively if a selection of clauses are met.
Brighton also retain a 20 per cent sell on clause for both players.
Brighton will receive £250,000 if Mheuka signs his first professional Chelsea contract, which he can do when he turns 17 in October. They will receive a further £250,000 if he makes his senior Chelsea debut, and an additional £250,000 if he makes his full international debut. Mheuka has represented England at under-17 level, and is also eligible to represent Zimbabwe."
...............and there's more along the same lines in The Athletic article. The 20% sell on clause is potentially very good news though.
