So, not a share but a piece of advice for anyone getting the Leonardo express train from the airport to the train terminal in Rome.

If you download the app, you can buy these tickets in advance and have the ability to change the time as long as you do so prior to its departure. Whilst it's normally 14 euro each way it goes down to 10 euro each way if there are 4 or more of you traveling so works out a few quid cheaper.

It runs every 15 minutes and take approx 30 minutes to Rome Termini so is marginally quicker than a cab if you time it right. Link to the Google play store app below. They also are guaranteed to run during the strike.

Lastly, you have to check in on the app prior to travel which is a quirk of the Italian trains.

Also a completely leftfield one. The price of flights from Birmingham Airport have gone up significantly since friday which would suggest I might not be alone on that flight. I can suggest a decent hotel by the airport (Cheap enough, bar with Champions league, Peroni on draft) for anyone who might need to stay the night before.

Hi all
So many different posts i am flying BA Heathrow to Milan on Thursday gets into Milan MXP for 10:35 so hoping there is enough time to get to Rome via train.

The problem is i am due to fly back to Heathrow on the Friday 17:35 from Milan MXP.

Is there definitely a train strike on the Friday ?
Any ideas guys

Hi Apparently one of the four shuttle bus services (TAM) run 24/7 at approx 30min intervals from FCO (Fiumicino), but not sure if you are FCO or Ciampino (CIA).
That's good to know, do you know if will they still be running on Friday morning early despite the strike? We are flying from FCO on the Wizz Air flight at 7.05 am so guess we need to be at the airport around 5am ish.

We have booked a private taxi but should be able to increase it by 1 (PM me, so I can try). We are staying at Hotel Morgana, and will be leaving for Rome Airport at 5pm on the 8/3/23.

I like these threads on NSC, so helpful and polite.

Me, I'm taking the direct Legs Express from the office chair to the settee. A three second journey. I do have space for another, which isn't booked yet, but I have reserved her a space as the enquiry will likely arrive.

I did, knowing I wouldn't be traveling, make a pretend schedule. It's good to pretend sometimes.

Hi all
On Friday I am booked on flight from Naples at 1100 with my son. Is anyone else heading to Naples who would like to share an Uber/Taxi if the trains are not running? Cost looks like €385 which is not ideal, but I am figuring is cheaper than another night in Rome and booking new flights home on Saturday.
Please PM me if interested.
Should have said - I guess leaving Rome about 0700 on Friday in the Taxi!

If you can drive, hire a car. A one-way rental will be a lot less and fuel won't be much.

Be wary of this. Uber drivers see the journey before taking it. You may have big issues finding someone. In addition on Friday I would expect a minimum 30% increase due to surge pricing. Download freenow app as well which will give you more taxi options. Good luck

Anyone already bought flights & now not travelling? x2 people Weds-Fri.

Was wondering if changing passenger names is an option that would be cheaper for us than booking now and would get the non-travelling pax their money back.

Pm me if interested. Worth a chat?

The two of us just got our match tickets, already have accommodation but not flights yet. If not we will look at non-direct flights (have had an eye on them so we know it's possible).

What airport does the Leonardo Express depart from?

On the TrenItalia app it says Ciampino Aeroporto to Rome Termini costs 2.70, but involves a change at Ciampino.

And do you know if the train will run on Friday for the return leg back to the Airport?

Did anyone else, like me, panicking, book a flight on the weds from Stansted, returning to London City on the Friday- both with connecting flights om Milan?

And want to hold my hand and pray that we make the connecting flights after it gave a 'short transfer time' AFTER I booked it.

I love these threads also. Were I a regular away attendee I think I would be losing my tiny mind right now. Can you imagine the scenes if we get through to the next round?

The days of a simple spur of the moment drive up to Carlisle or Hull, and PotG, are now so remote, I sometimes wonder if any of it was real :lolol:

I'm on the Thursday morning 10:10am Wizzair flight - happy to share a cab if anyone else is on the same flight.
Hey I’m on that flight too . Now slightly anxious about collection times for tickets. I was factoring an hour out of airport and 45 minutes into city so 3:30pm ? That’s not including any delay to flight (though checking this flight hasn’t been delayed this year , in fact arrived early today) . Happy to share manic cab ride if needed

I am staying in triple room close to city center from Tuesday to Thursday (checkout at 10 am on a matchday local time). The room contains double bed and single bed. As I am travelling alone single bed is free for the moment.

I am writing as there might be someone looking for a cheap stay on 2 nights before the game. We can spare the price then (45 Euro per person for 2 night). It's a cheap stay - shared bathroom in a corridor. Not a luxury stay. Anyway if someone would like to gather more information - feel free to let me know ⚽🙂
