[Albion] First visit to The Amex yesterday.

Hi All

I'm not strictly a BHA supporter (BOO) but my teenage son is, and I just wanted to say what a pleasure it was for us to visit your stadium yesterday, to mingle with your supporters and the stadium staff and to chat on this helpful, witty and (relatively) polite fans forum. The advice you gave me about travel and parking before our visit was much appreciated. And I was pleasantly surprised at the balanced discussion on Gilmour's red card afterwards.

I think that you've got a great set-up here. Thank you again. :)

PS I couldn't believe it when we got to our seats and found that they were all padded !

I always like to hear from independent fans when they visit as invariably away fans always have a blinkered view depending on how the game went for them.

I sat next to a "neutral" at the Palace game and he said very similar things about his experience before he left on the 80th minute :facepalm:

But you will need to come again as you didn't see the team or the atmosphere in the stadium at there best...

I thought padded seats was a nice touch when they built the stadium. But after seeing the state of some people's rear ends that attend, I think perhaps it was a feat of overengineering.

My son supports Brighton because we have a family friend whose son used to work at the club (in scouting). Also, around the time that he was getting interested in football, he thought it was cool to see his name featuring prominently in headlines in the sports pages: "Murray scores winner against insert club name here" . That saved me some money by not having to pay to get a shirt personilised - just had to by a No.17 shirt and it already had my son's name on it.

We were in the Upper East Side for the Everton match (hang on, isn't that somewhere in New York???) quite central, although further away from the pitch than my preference. But still closer to the action than being in Row 1 at the London Stadium (which answers another one of your questions!).

Hope your lad went crazy shouting when the skipper headed in at 90+3

I had to work in my shop at short notice yesterday afternoon and had Warren Bluetoothed through the radio …. I stopped the whole street when that goal went in 😆

YEEEEEEEEEEES!! GETINTHEEEERE!!

First time my lad went to The Amex he was blown away - magical 👍

My youngest came to his first game yesterday. We were just to the left of the Everton fans and he was outraged at Pickford being Pickford, but enjoyed the new additions to his vocabulary (look forward to seeing how that goes down at school tomorrow). He went absolutely mad when Dunk scored! Even the 90 minute wait for the park and ride couldn’t take the smile off his face…

Fan for life- what have I let him in for!

Pickford wasn't really being Pickford yesterday.
1. He didn't fall to the ground and lie down for 40 seconds each time he caught the ball.
2. He didn't seriously injure anyone.
