I am taking on the Beat the Pro Challenge hosted by Sussex's new captain John Simpson, where you go head to head in a four over batting contest and to help level the playing field bonus runs are awarded linked to how much you fundraise. If kind enough to donate you get the chance to win places on sporting experience days, events and memorabilia and also get matching discounts on experiences and events during 2024.

Full details on www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/beat-the-prome-vs-sussex-ccc-captain-john-simpson but essentially during 2024, Sussex based good causes will significantly multiply your £5s until all funded free places are exhausted. (In Bristol I am doing a separate fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis which is worth a look at https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/billy-vs-the-pro-cricket-challenge)

Whether people want to support John or me (just state John in the comments), it will all go to help charities / good causes / cricket clubs etc in Sussex add to the £612K already raised in donations through the auctioning off of such athlete challenges.

Hopefully you might be inspired to take up the challenge and raise for their own club or chosen good cause.

Thanks for your time and hope you can help create a cricketing miracle.

(Bozza I did send three messages but today is the launch so I hope you don't mind).

ITS NOW BECOME ALBION FAN VS THE DAILY TELEGRAPH
And an analogy to our club.

In the recent comments about BHAFC’s place in the pecking order and the focus on Sam Jewell, RDZ’s future and that of several players, a lot has been made of this is how it works in Industry, when those with greater pockets blow well run organisations out of the water, and what can be done about it.

Well, sometimes you can make a difference and as I am trying to generate funds for good causes throughout Sussex in a Beat the Pro Challenge with John Simpson

https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/billy-vs-the-pro-cricket-challenge where I am trying to create a sporting miracle and give lots of places to good causes in Sussex for their charity auctions in 2024.

Sharing of the link would be appreciated as I tell you what I am up against.

Since the GB Athletes started Crowdfunders , good causes have not only received 100% of donations but have multiplied the f*** out of them through placing experience days with GB Athletes on Charity Auctions, last Autumn good causes multiplied every crowdfunded £1 by 241%, adding to the £613K that have been raised in donations by these days.

So you can imagine our surprise when PAID FOR ‘editorial’ in the Daily Telegraph from a Sporting Raffle, made behind the paywall, some barbed comments in our direction about the validity of our project that has run since 2012. I believe the daily coverage was mainly focussed on the Venture Capitalists behind this scheme,

We have been unable(or more accurately pay) to get a right of reply, and so have decided to go on a counter offensive, based on the fact that good causes get a lot more than 100% from your donations. Lots of great prizes to be won by the way in both offerings whichever side you take :)
