Frieburg is in the middle of 4 decentish cities. Expensive but of course that wont worry you.
LOADS of travel alternatives………so easier to get to than many, and lower prices as a result.
Freiburg itself is a really lovely city. Aside from proximity to other cities it is also on the doorstep of the Black Forest.
