You would imagine this has come too soon for him, if as seems he's still in the "can play for 20 mins here and there" pile of players we have.
The Euro's not out of the question if they qualify, but he needs to show he can play full games to stand a chance is my guess. That will be tough with the competition we have.

Not sure about that. You can have GF, then it goes away and comes back, goes away and comes back, etc, etc. Mrs Bobkin had it back in the day and it lasted for about 18 months.
According to the NHS: "Glandular fever is spread through spit, so you can get it through kissing or by sharing cups or cutlery. You're infectious for up to 7 weeks before you get symptoms, and you may be infectious for several months after being unwell. You can go back to work or school as soon as you start to feel better."

He played better in SUFC and CPFC games than he has been but was still largely ineffective. Against SUFC Wellbeck came on and played better.

Great to see Moder get 45 mins yesterday.
I thought he defended the counter attack from the goal kick very calmly, putting in the sort of sprint to get back which suggested growing confidence in his body holding up to PL football.
Also spent most of the match in a very attacking position, I guess as Sheff Utd has very little threat he could do.
I wonder if he is now first choice to be rotated into central midfield?

I doubt he will be looked on in that way just yet.
Baleba probably should be ahead of him, until such time that he has had a full 90 and shown what he can do.

RDZ comments were interesting post game that Moder is good at find spacing behind the defending line...which I suspect is why he was introduced second half, to break the low block.

Yes, the second half yesterday was a perfect chance to get Moder some minutes. But it would have been a good chance for Baleba as well.
My thoughts are that Moder has leapfrogged Baleba (though I accept they have different roles).

Maybe, I just don't think RDZ works that way.
Moder was the best player for that particular moment in time.
reading anything else into it is probably unwise.

I think Moder is a bit more flexible on his position and he drifted left a bit more when Mitoma went off and basically covered Pervis when he went forward but great to see him get game time
To me Moder just is that bit more experienced I have no doubt Baleba will become a really good player he just needs time to develop meanwhile Moder is a really good player but needs time to get match fit, I assume with the injuries Moder offers the fastest option

Now with the caveat that Sheff utd were atrocious… Moder looked good/tidy and physically he (at times) looked dominant in and around a thuggish midfield… the sprint back to catch McAtee was superb play/desire… it showed power and pace… for me he’s operating at 70% ish in terms of readiness/confidence AND Roberto ball… his ceiling remains high and I’m delighted he’s gradually coming back …

The bit I liked was when he got there, he just stood there, saying to the attacker, "what are you going to do?" All the time knowing that the cavalry, the marvellous Billy Gilmour, was almost there to sweep up.
MacAtee was desperate for Moder to dive in and make up his mind for him but he didn't. A manager's player!

Not much point in Baleba coming on in that situation.
Moder needs the minutes to build his confidence in his body and match fitness, Baleba needs to work on his positional awareness and understanding of the movement of the other players in our team, especially when building from the back. Playing against 10, that are sitting deep and trying to chase down the occasional punt upfield would not help that.

If you look at the ground he made up… Christ he was quick… to then keep his head and not just bundle into McAtee was (as you say) equally impressive… Roberto will have loved that. Loved it.

Thought that was his best game for us. As the previous posts have said, he showed remarkable experience and knowledge of the game when he tracked back and stayed on his feet for the McAtee counter but what really stood out to me was his pace! Didn’t know he had that speed in him.
One thing i’ll point out that i think some people are missing is that RDZ has shown that he really likes him, straight into the side when he came back from injury and has been getting more and more game time. My guess is that it’s his remarkable all round game that RDZ likes, he’s not amazing at 1 thing like Gilmour, but he’s pretty good at everything and doesn’t have a real weakness (that I can identify). The Baleba comparison is misleading, they are very different players in my eye.

...........and that he "will need them (Moder and Fati) in the crucial part of the season." Bit of a blow to those who seem to expect/want Moder to be whisked out the door ASAP (along with Webster, Dahoud, Alzate, etc.)!!

I think he showed that turn of speed when he did Kyle Walker for pace whilst playing for Poland vs England - albeit pre-injury… he’s got lots in his locker… really hope he stays fit
