Live, Wendy May was an excellent DJ (my still be) at The Locomotion at the Town & Country Club back in the 80s.

On the radio, Gary Crowley and John Peel both played a lot of music I could relate to and Crowley was also decent live too. Peel may have been too but I never saw him.

Tommy Vance - TV On The Radio.

The Friday Rock Show 10-12pm was essential listening for all those into rock and heavy metal, and I used to love his Friday Night Connection piece in the middle of the show.

Not a great radio listener but because he promoted my favourite music genre I'd have to vote for Tommy Vance.

Used to love ' TV on the Radio ' and his Radio 1 ' The Friday Rock Show '. You had some great studio sessions from upcoming bands and the Friday Night connection competition

For those of us growing up in the 60's and needing to hear all the real blues and soul music it has to be Mike Raven on radio Luxembourg on Sunday evenings, and with awful reception at least on my transistor.
