Theres' a lot of Palace fans who were impressed with that performance.

22% possession, then throwing it all away in the last 4 minutes.

Didn't watch the game, so I couldn't possibly comment, but what exactly were they impressed by?

Looking online, it was the work rate of a packed centre midfield for 79 minutes, they thought it was clever to effectively play three defensive midfielders on the night in Lerma, Albino and Wharton protecting Andersen.

I think they were impressed by how they made Chelsea look crap for 90 minutes. The truth is, of course, that Chelsea managed that all by themselves.

Yup

and what is it that they are protesting about exactly?

It's not winning isn't it?
Oh and the fact their owners don't want to spend loads of cash. after they realised Parish sold them a pup

Sounds very much like entitled modern football fans complaints doesn't it?
I thought they were all against that?
I think what has turned into a big problem for them is....US

They had a 4 year head start on us in getting to the PL, and now what have they got to show for it ?

One club has showed steady progression year on year without busting the bank, is now miles ahead of them on and off the pitch, and enjoying a European Tour. The other has been listlessly treading water for years, going through the motions, going through managers with no sense of plan or direction, and the ownership perfectly happy to trudge along finishing 12th - 16th.

If we were fighting relegation with them comfortably 8 points ahead, they'd be alright with that. However, what we have done is properly shown them UP by playing a brand of progressive football they can only dream of, with a young squad of players which seemingly gets replenished every season with more shoestring superstars, and an incredible charismatic manager leading us. Whilst they have...Roy. Again.

The contrast is so stark, and they don't like it.

Not.
One.
Bit.

Palace were unlucky from what I saw (about 65 mins). Chelsea were absolutely shocking in the first half but a failure to score a second was always going to leave Palace vulnerable. I was incredibly disappointed when I saw the final result. Jammy gits. Can't stand Chelsea. Just when I think we’ve broken clear of them they manage to claw it back. We were 7 points ahead at HT on Saturday, now it’s back to 1 point. At least they have City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle +Brentford coming up in the next 5 games. Need to put some distance between us.

Not exactly "an unscrupulous conniving bastard is cynically asset stripping our club and destroying our way of life, we are literally protesting for our ultimate survival", is it?

More like four different variants of "we're a bit shit, much of which is down to us fans' entitled attitude and general bellendery, and it makes me so annoyed I wrote something on a bed sheet".

This kind of pathetic results-based entitled shit devalues legitimate protests imo, it makes me angry and detracts from what's really wrong and important in modern football.

That said their banner quality is improving a bit recently, they must have found a sympathetic local who doesn't use crayons. I guess that must count as progress.

No banner saying: 'Real Fans Chucked Aside For Ersatz Ultras Group'?

Nothing saying: 'No Atmosphere Without A Drum'?

No sign of 'Still Mediocre While Brighton Are Beating Ajax'?

Not even 'Little To Complain About, But Protest Banners Might Make Us Look Like Proper Ultras And Make Everyone Forget That Straight Outta Holmesdale Video'?

I thought for a second that we can't be far off seeing an entire A-level essay of 1200 words spread out along the stand...but then I realised that's not a mass display of discontent spread around the stadium, those banners are all held by the same people, they are just changing them every few minutes.

But of course we still have those teams to play too.

It's up to us to make sure we do the business in our next 4 games and then take Chelsea apart when they come to the Amex.

Yep This!
There are plenty of genuinely awful owners ripping clubs apart.
Parish is doing as good a job as he's capable of.

Experienced, billionaire sports investors have been brought in to keep the club afloat in the Prem.
They've decided that it isn't worth pumping money into Palace and would like to sell up.

80% of the protesting fans would sell their principles, if a petro-state started sniffing around.
