I wish King well and am not making light of this heinous disease, but I'm genuienly not sure he'll even be in a queue?, not like he's going to be added to the Windsor general hospital waiting list.
He'll be off to Harley Street to see the countries leading oncologists, no doubt?
Well, nobody wants to hear they have cancer.
I doubt in the moment it’s any less scary for him as it would be any of us.

The fact that Charles is King doesn't make me wish him any more or any less good health than anyone else with the disease.
Whilst I appreciate that he is clearly at an advantage with regards to healthcare, cancer itself doesn't discriminate.
The openness with which things are being discussed is commendable and will hopefully encourage others.
Royalist, Republican or somewhere in the middle, one can hope for a speedy recovery regardless.

Exactly this (plus he’s got no money worries so no additional stress making him more ill, which is what’s happening to so many working class people).

There is little if anything to choose between a private and NHS cancer pathway in terms of speed of treatment, in fact some local private hospitals will transfer patients back to the NHS.
The NHS will do their utmost to get patients a treatment decision within 28 days and first definitive treatment within 62 days.
Long term, you’re right.
I just think we should first and foremost treat him as a person. In this situation.

Having lived and breathed the terrible fall out of a missed diagnosis of a family member (one of the reasons I am yet to return to the Amex since pre-pandemic) I very much get it and will continue to post what I like.
The main reason the Palace released this news was to add to the conversation and this is the conversation.

If it’s detected early enough it is, the actual treatment side as per my earlier post is comparable.
That is why screening has an important role and things like Targeted Lung Health Checks and FIT are very important.
The whole because he’s the King argument is basically bollocks. Early detection is the issue, if anyone has a raised PSA and see the GP, they’ll get referred, and likely to get an MRI after inspection.
I am sure Charles like anyone else had an MRI and thankfully it has showed an associated issue at an early stage.

Irrelevant to what happened to us and the fall out was horrific. I'm not going into details and neither am I going to be lectured regarding "early detection".
I don’t know your circumstances, but in relation to what you’ve responded to and this thread, what I’ve posted is fact.

of course, they both smoked but all the money and top doctors couldn’t allow them to live longer.
One nonsense thing on the BBC News just now, the presenter suggested that the heavy workload since becoming king might’ve brought about the disease, a view then kind of shared by the posh ‘royals expert’.

I don't think that @One Teddy Maybank is lecturing you.
They're just stating a fact that if you have a suspected cancer, then early screening is a great option for ALL.
