I saw them when they played at The Dome. In all honesty, it wasn't one of their strongest lineups, and they weren't exactly fantastic.

Saw them at Wembley in around 74. Brian was ambling about but the arse, Mike Love, was fronting it. They were OK, but Joe Walsh, and The Eagles, were better. Oh and Chakkkka Khan (singing with Rufus  ). Stackridge and Elton John were shite. Were you there @monty uk? I would imagine so. NG and PG had rhubarb for Stackridge

Surf's Up was one of the four first records I bought (together with Imagine, Aqualung and Electric Warrior). I still have the pristine original vinyl.

WELL O/T: Stackridge! Now there's a name I haven't heard for years! Saw them several times at Worthing Assembly Hall. Still got a copy of 'Do the Stanley' somewhere. Bit of trivia: they were the first-ever act on at the first-ever Glastonbury.

(And Aqualung and Electric Warrior were the first two albums I ever bought with my own money).

EDIT: With my interest piqued I googled Stackridge. I never knew they were as 'big' as they were. I'd always thought of them as an underground band, a sort of souped-up version of Pigsty Hill Light Orchestra.

This all sounds a bit London pompous.
This must’ve been the shenanigans outside between the Toon & The Scouse. ???

Great band. Saw them just over the road at the Brighton Centre a few years ago with my elderly father who has always been a big fan. I think there was only one of the original members left, but it was a fun concert, and great to hear all those classic hits live.

I never knew this existed……the wonderful Beach Boys from their splendid Surfs Up album filmed in a place I’m sure you’ll recognise!
p.s. I wanted to post this on the live music thread but wasn’t entirety sure how!
Apologies if fixtures.

What a great track and location! I have never heard that song before. Thanks for sharing!
