[Albion] Are we missing a finisher?

Was the same question asked after our last home game? 🤦‍♂️
it's becoming cumulative though - I think Fati might be the short-term answer for the rest of this year. Welbeck, who I rate, was never a great scorer; Fergie is having growing issues, I would say - ie he looks clumsy at the mo.
Obviously, no idea who we'd get in though.

Do we need another striker , well it won't hurt , however IMO our main problem is our style of play , its too slow which is probably down to us having too many good technical footballers and not enough faster , direct players and that's compounded by a manager that encourages holding onto the ball. Too often we play 7 balls when 4 would get us there BEFORE they get 10 men in the box.

That's not to write off RDZ's style of play it has achieved so much but when it's obviously not delivering we need to have some alternatives. One thing we have missed with Enciso is the player who just runs at the defence and is prepared to shoot , last night too many players were in reasonable positions (before goal got packed) and did not shoot.

All about opinions , would I swap RDZ ball for Hughton , no of course not but I don't think the choice has to be binary....

I was talking to a Wolves fan after the game and one comment he made was - you've had an old team out the pitch .

I agree except I do find it odd that multiple managers have now used him at full back. He just isn't one. I'd rather Gross there.
At a push, he'll do a job at RIGHT back, if the oppo left sider is not rapid (he could have played there for Wolves last night and dealt with Milner, for example). To play him at LEFT back, against speedy gonzalez was a hiding to nothing.

You don't know what your missing ... to be fair a few of them were quite chatty including 'F*ck the Albion' song was not aimed at you 'lads' (i am 67)....

Sorry, I meant I have no idea what "you've had an old team out the pitch" means. I'm very tired but I've read it multiple times and still none the wiser. Is it a typo or am I missing something? 🤔

We didn't really create anything last night. We dithered and our final ball and decision making was woeful. Not sure many realistic forward targets would have changed that.

Do we need another striker , well it won't hurt.

Well it will hurt the existing strikers who will get reduced game time and development (and perhaps want to leave ? ) , it will be a very strange move given we have a striker , who half way through the season has scored 15 goals , we have a 19 year old who has scored a dozen or so goals in the PL, etc and is just getting started but sure - is inconsistent with his form. And so on.

Why should everything go out of the window when you fail to score at home (it happens) for the first time in 15 months !! ?

Stick to the plan. It's working. Its just contrarian to argue otherwise.

Since when did we become Chelsea ...

Nah, Pedro had an off day, Welbeck is still class, Ferguson is still work in progress and despite not hitting the back of the net, his all round game and hold up play is far more intelligent than some on here give him credit for, allowing others the time and space to score.

Agree. But we are v shit in front if goal atm. Compared to start of the season, and that is due to our dire lack if pace.

It's not to do with the strikers.

Games like last nights are an inevitable consequence of the kind of football we play against low block teams like Wolves.

We barely looked to get in behind them and to me that was the problem.

Had we had Mitoma and Adingra, that would have all looked vert different

Less to do with our finishers, and more to do with not having any wingers.

Joao Pedro, Welbeck and Ferguson were poor yesterday but they have all shown their quality at times and there's no reason for another striker.
