Can anyone tell me what the likely date of the 4th round vs sheffield will be on and ticketing sales dates by any chance? presumably if on a weekend they would give a large allocation?

cheers.

Just been to the ticket window - to confirm, it does have to be the person who bought them, guests cannot pick up their own ticket despite being named, and you do need photo ID.

Re the train prices, who relies on walk up prices when travelling that far??
Rather than it being walk up, its more in times where services are busy, advance fares are limited number, I find especially on the West Coast that advance aren't available when we play up in Manchester, Newcastle and Liverpool as they have already been snapped up before the fixtures are confirmed, by home supporters, meaning that you have to rely on the off peak and super off peak fares which in this situation would be more than a 100% increase. I believe this would disproportionately affect football fans, as well as those in emergency situations or people who travel on busy days.

Fair enough although I would say our experience is very different as i can't remember when we failed to get an advance ticket. We get our tickets in the top tier and get train tickets immediately after.

Yeah sometimes works, sometimes it doesn’t, Liverpool and United seem to be particularly oversubscribed.

Thanks saw this, but is there any available?
Ah, i think you have found the flaw in the idea of selling tickets direct at the ground. It is for some a long way to go on the off chance and if some do become available at the last minute how the heck do the club let us know because if they advertise somehow that there are, for example, 4 available they may well entice 30 people to turn up for them.
The only logical solution is i would suggest to call the club and say that if any become available you are prepared to either go to the Amex or collect from Bramall lane although i believe they may have already ruled out the second option.
From the clubs point of view i guess they feel that they could offer spares for sale to people who are collecting tickets they have already bought.

My friend was wondering about just buying a ticket in the home end, plenty available.
Does anyone know how many they've sold? It can't be massively attractive with us back up there in a couple of weeks. However, when I looked on their site for info there doesn't seem to be a 'buy tickets' line, which there is for their other upcoming games. There's only the option for hospitality.

I assume the upper tier above us will be empty as we didn't take it. It was half empty against West Ham on Sunday.

You can see availability but no simple way of seeing numbers across the ground. Just click ‘proceed’ on the match ticket page and then individual blocks. There are seats available pretty much everywhere so looks like a v low take-up.

Middle blocks on Cherry Street South are fairly full, everywhere else has tons of availability

This game on epsn in the states and premier sports in Ireland so loads of streams.

Quite funny that premier sports keep picking us. It must be because of fergie, who is hopeless at the moment. Shows how rubbish IRish footy is at present.
