He’s actually pretty similar to dahoud . A few nice flicks but mostly frustrating and a powder puff

I reckon rdz would of sussed him and he wouldn’t of figured much

That's just not true - he wasn't an enforcer but he could put his foot in as well as passes like that outside of the boot flick to Gross vs Manure

Just thinking how you get a special kind of affinity for certain ex-players at certain times in the clubs history. The CH era, turning us around from a relegation threated Championship side and getting to the PL had players like Davey, Knocky, Katal, Duffers etc... all have an association with good times as a fan and I still feel a certain affection for them.

I'm sure at some point in the future I'll have similar thoughts about the current crop.

Good player who we did not play to his strengths, he was or should have been a 10 but we often played him too deep and tackling was not his strength.

Personally think Gross is a much better player, he to could be a 10 but he could also be a 2-11 and do it well.

Interesting to think - if someone asked Brighton fans when they both signed, who would still be playing for us and having a huge impact out of Gross and Propper, how many would’ve said Pascal? I suspect it would have been a close split, Propper probably edging it.

If you’d have asked the same question at the end of Potter’s first season, I strongly suspect more would have said Propper.

I always felt Propper’s complete lack of pace was a major issue. He definitely shone, for some reason I think of him as a destroyer of West Ham. But he was a weakness in some of goals conceded on the counter and subsequent losses.

Imho Gross has been quality from day one, the only lull from his heights might’ve been winter 2021/22 for a while?

PL stats:
Gross - 210 appearances, 29 goals, 41 assists.
Propper - 107, 2 and 7.

Pro rata, Gross is light years ahead of Propper.

Clearly the answer is Gross but there are many who thought he was too slow and expected him to be shifted in the Potter revolution. The most obvious comparison between the two is that they’re both slow but technically gifted players. Pascal has just proven to be more intelligent, versatile and consistently productive than Propper but I’m not sure many would have seen that in 2019 or 2020 (certainly not to the extent of Gross being a lynchpin of a team pushing the top 6!).

For 107 games, it feels like Propper doesn’t have many stand out performances. The one that sticks in my mind is the 3-1 win against Palace. We played a lot of that match with 10 men and it was the grittiest defensive shift I think he ever put in as a CDM.

absolutely agree - great things were expected from Propper whereas Gross was anonymous (relatively).
