Mate of mine lived over in Alfriston & they had a few older games over there. I was introduced to Toad in the Hole which I'd never heard if. I think that was in the olde smugglers. All a bit before my day, although I recall the days a 20 & 10 pence got you a game of pool.

Brighton factually.....
Bar Billiards great game, last time I played that was about 10 years ago in the Racecourse Pub on Elm Grove which has now been converted into flats for degenerates.

Master Marnier - Brighton Marina
Caxton - Brighton Station
New Oak - Hollingbury
The Stag - Portslade old town
The Bevy Bevendean
Blue Anchor - Portslade
Moulescoomb Club

Still a league going on Wednesday in Brighton
The Blue Anchor.

If ever you were going to reject a pub on name alone ...

If not you'd probably reject it on location

Bar Billiards in one thread, Subbuteo in another, and the old King Alfred in a further. You begin to think we're a bunch of old has-beens on here.

Anyone for shove-ha'penny?
It’s what happens when there hasn’t been a match for a day or two 😂

I'm surprised you'd never heard of Toad in the Hole. Though thinking about it, it was always much bigger in Lewes pubs than in Brighton.

As someone who has lived in West Sussex all my life, Toad is a game I only heard of when I started working in Lewes and which seems to be very much local to Lewes and the surrounding villages
